PROGRAM WEEK 1
Welcome word • 4
Dear participants,
Welcome to the sixth edition of the Summer School on Management of Creativity in an Innovation Society, a collaborative program between HEC Montréal and the University of Barcelona.
The Summer School project aims at bringing together people with different worldviews and experiences – academics, industrialists, artists, policy-makers, students – from different cultures and different age groups, in order to discover through a shared experience the multiple dimensions of creativity. During two intensive weeks, the participants will work together to learn methods and practices of creativity, will co-create new business models, will collaborate in international creative projects, and will co-design new solutions for professional or social issues.
One of the main results of the Summer School is the progressive building of a community of passionate people, who beyond the program, will continue creating common projects, exchanging ideas, and apply these creative insights and methods in their daily professional activities, with a head full of possibilities for improving their organizations, their careers, and their networks.
The participants of this unique and exclusive experience will find inspiration in the vibrant cities of Montréal and Barcelona, in the myriad of creative activities, industries and cultural institutions that are at the heart of the dynamism of these two cities. Participants will be constantly solicited and challenged as they move through the program and experience new places and spaces where creativity emerges and develops in Montréal and in Barcelona.
Let the journey begin!
Creatively yours,
Patrick Cohendet – HEC Montréal Laurent Simon – HEC Montréal Lucy Stojak – HEC Montréal Aïda Bravo – Universitat de Barcelona
Montserrat Pareja-Eastaway – Universitat de Barcelona Jaume Valls – Universitat de Barcelona
