Mission Statement
Our goal is to provide a quality, safe and fun summer recreation program. The staff prides itself in serving the membership in a positive and friendly manner. We want our members, guests and children to leave Blue Lake Springs saying, “This was the best summer vacation ever!”

BLSHA Membership Rules
Please review the following rules and fee schedule; remember there is a fee to replace all lost or damaged membership or guest cards. Everyone must check in at the Recreation Office window, and those 14 years and older must wear a daily wristband. Your member card along with photo ID must always be shown before using any of the facilities; this includes Fly-In Lake.
Membership:
In accordance with the Association's CC&R's, Article I, Section 1, paragraph (B) and Associa-tion Policy 500 A-19 Extension of Membership Privileges, Membership Card(s) and one Guest Card are issued per lot. Membership privileges extend only to immediate family: a members spouse and dependent children.
Members with Guests:
In accordance with Association Policy 500 A-19 Extension of Membership Privileges, a member is entitled to accompany six guests per property (lot) to the facility each day without charge. The member accompanying over the six guests per day per property will be required to pay an additional guest fee of $4.00 per person.
Family Season Card:
For an annual fee (which is in addition to the annual Homeowner's assessment), a member may purchase a family season card that will allow the member's family to use the facilities. Corporations that own property are not eligible. Eligible family members are: parents, grandparents, non-dependent children, and grandchildren of the member. The member does not have to accompany the family member to the facility and need not sign-in such persons. However, an adult must always accompany children under the age of 14.
The Family Season Card is effective from Memorial Day through Labor Day 2018. Cards must be purchased prior to using the facilities and the member is required to provide the names of the eligible family members expected to use each card. Family members are re-quired to show identification as this ID will be checked against the family members listed on each card before being allowed entry into the facilities. Additionally, a Family Member Card-holder may bring in two guests without having to pay guest fees. Guest fees apply to every-one over the age of two years old.

Fee Schedule
Guests (with Guest Pass, not accompanied by member):
Members may leave their Guest Card in their home for non-owner usage. Guests must show the BLSHA Guest Card along with photo ID at the Recreation Office window. Possessing the Guest Card and photo ID entitles the holder to purchase a card for daily or weekly entry. Guest fees apply to all of those over the age of two years.

Renter (possesses verification card from realtor)
A renter is an individual or single family who has contracted a Blue Lake Springs home from a rental agency or homeowner. The renters are entitled to use the Blue Lake Springs facilities provided they show the Blue Lake Springs Renters Guest Card with name, lot and unit numbers, along with photo ID. This card allows them entry after the daily or weekly fee has been paid. Weekly passes are from noon of purchase date until noon of the seventh day. All renters must check in at the Recreation Office.

Rates are available for member-sponsored groups. For those who wish to accompany a group such as an organization, church or school group. Advance registration and approval must be obtained from the General Manager.
Note: All check-in procedures and payment of fees always apply to Fly-In Lake; fees must be paid before using the Fly-In Lake facility. Fees are accepted at the Recreation Office at Snowflake Lodge.
Swimmers Itch Please be Advised:
During peak Summer Season, Lodge & Fly-In Lake, at times, may experience an influx of certain microscopic parasites that infect some birds and mammals. If the parasite comes into contact with a swimmer, it could burrow into the skin causing an allergic reaction and rash. We do have sunscreen available that prevents swimmers itch. Pool Times, Activities, Lessons and more...
All non-potty trained children must wear swim diapers. Diapers are for sale in the Recreation Office. Please remember an accident in the pool may require closure for as long as 12 hours. This affects all swimmers so please be courteous! Note: Per the Fair Housing Amendments Act of 1988 only those participating in lap swim are allowed in the pool. During swim lessons, water aerobics and water polo, the pool is closed to other swimming activities.

Swim Lesson and Fee Schedule
(Payment due at time of reservation)
Classes start Tuesday, June 26
1. Only BLS members and guests may sign up for lessons.
2. Group lessons are $40 per child, Non Member $50. Tuesday—Friday.
Payment due on day of reservation; no exceptions.
3. Students in group lessons are separated by ability.
4. Signups begin Memorial Day weekend. Please call 795-4009.
5. Two Group Sessions: Beginners at 10:00 a.m. and Advanced Beginners/Intermediate
begin at 10:30 a.m.
6. Private lessons are offered at 9:30 a.m. $25 per lesson , Non Member $35.
Open to all ages. Payment due on day of reservation

8. Cancellation policy applies.
Children under the age of four and students needing stroke refinement benefit from private lessons.
Please note: Once payment is received by the Recreation Office, the child is confirmed into the class. You may only sign up for one week at a time. A second week of lessons may be scheduled; however, you must check on the Friday of the following week. If the next week’s class is not full, you may sign up your child for a second week.

Kid Activities, Camps and Classes
2 p.m. Fun & Games: (Tuesday—Saturday) Check the white board for activity. $3 to $5 daily
per participant (guest renters). You may find us out on the facility or in the pool when it is hot!
3 p.m. Story Time: (Tuesday—Saturday) for all ages.
4:30 p.m. Inner Tube Water Polo: Wednesday and Friday Lineup begins at 4:15 p.m.
When there are not enough players for two games we consolidate and play one game. For safety the pool must be cleared of all swimmers and toddlers. Sign-ups required. Pool re-opens after Water Polo.
7 p.m. Bingo: See calendar for dates/times. Win a free card when you participate in the theme.
8 p.m. Movie: Saturday Movie Night is a real staple of the BLS lineup. Come join us for a mov-
ie, a shooting star or two and sometimes an occasional raccoon.
Basketball Camp: Starts Monday July 9-13. For boys and girls. Sign-ups are required. Camp
is $50. (Payment due at time of reservation, checks only.) Basketball Sign Up Form is on page 11.
Swim Lessons: Group and Private lessons are offered beginning Tues. June 26. Sign-ups are
required. See more information and Swim Lesson Sign Up Form on page 15.
Tennis Lessons: Semi and Privately only. For more information see the instructor directly or
call 795-4009. To sign up, see information on page 6.
Jr. Lifeguard Class: We are offering two sessions for youth ages 11-15. Students are
introduced to basic lifeguarding skills, CPR, first aid and rescue techniques, along with leadership skills. See calendar for dates and fee. Jr. Life Guard Sign up Form on page 13.
Fly Fishing Class: Back by popular demand. Fly Fishing Sign Up Form on page 12.
Refund and Cancellation Policy
1. A $10 service charge for all refunds.
2. No refunds once a class has started.
We reserve the right to cancel classes, upgrade participants to a higher level, or combine classes
due to insufficient registrants or causes beyond our control. In the event of a class cancellation a
full refund will be given. If student misses a class it will not be made up. If BLS cancels a class due
to bad weather or any unforeseen circumstances, we will do our best to reschedule. There are no
refunds or “credit” for missed classes.
NOTE: All fee-based classes require a signed release of liability form . Final class/camp
depends upon total registrations. A class may be canceled, consolidated or otherwise modified.
Each class has a minimum number of participants.

Court Reservations and Information
Tennis court reservations are first come, first serve; in person or by phone, 795-4009.
Reservations are accepted one day in advance. Reservations begin on the hour,
doubles two hours, singles one hour. When there is a time conflict please see the
Recreation Director.

PTR certified tennis instructor and high school coach Judith A. Anderson offers
semi and private lessons. She also conducts stroke and strategy clinics by

*As a reminder fishing in Lodge Lake is limited to children 16 and under. Fishing is not permitted
until after the derby on July 7. The daily fishing limit is six per child. After the derby you may fish
from dawn to 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. until dusk. Please no fishing in the roped off areas and off the
docks. Also, after the derby it is “catch and release fishing.”
**For your safety on the night of the fireworks, Sat. July 7 all pop-up tents and umbrellas must be
removed from the beach by 6 p.m. Attendees must enter through the main entrance. Beach
seating starts when the beach has been maintained. Your cooperation is appreciated.

BLSHA Summer Recreation Rules
In order to enhance your overall experience at Blue Lake Springs we have developed the following
list of rules. To verify proper use of all facilities (including the lakes) members and guests must
always be in possession of their Blue Lake Springs identification card. A card with photo ID, must be
shown upon request.
It is mandatory that Infants and children who are not completely potty trained wear tight
fitting swim pants in the pool and lakes.
Those 14 years old must be signed in by a parent and wear a daily wristband.
The California State Health and Safety Code requires that an adult at least 18 years old
must accompany children unable to swim and children under 14 years of age.
Glass containers of any kind are not allowed.
No smoking or vaping on any of the BLS facilities; this includes all beaches and Fly-In
Lake .
Proper swimming attire is required; no cutoffs. Swimmers must shower prior to entering the pool.
No running, pushing, diving or horseplay is allowed in or around the pool.
All musical devices must be used with ear buds.
No animals allowed in the Lodge area, pool or lake areas except authorized ADA service dogs.
No bicycles, skates, roller blades, skateboards, or scooters.
Pop-up tents are restricted to 8 feet by 8 feet and must be no closer than 20 feet from the water’s
edge.
For safety we request the water’s edge to remain clear of large floating devices.
The grounds and facility close at 10 p.m. unless there is a scheduled event. The lakes close at
dusk.
Paddleboards, hard-body kayaks, over 3-person boats and oversized floating toys are not
allowed at Lodge Lake; however, such items are permitted at Fly-In Lake.
All pop up tents, umbrellas, chairs and floating devices must be removed from the beach area at
the end of each day. A storage area is available next to the lower tennis courts. All items left at
the beach storage rail must be secured. 10

Swim Lesson Information
There is a high demand for lessons and we continually search for ways to meet your needs. However, there are times when complications arise and cannot be solved. Please review the following to ensure we provide the learning experience you expect.
Level Descriptions:
Beginners: Learns to blow bubbles, kick, float and push off. Freestyle introduced. Learns survival skills and water safety.
Adv. Beg.: Refines freestyle, breast stroke, breathing.
Privates: For those under four or older students wishing stroke refinement.
How to ensure a positive experience:
