Online Carnegie Science Center GSK: Science in the Summer: Be an Engineer!

This LIVE hands-on science education program aims to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers. This year’s theme, Be an Engineer!, features all-new activities

that invite children to play the role of engineers and tackle challenges in electrical, biomedical, environmental, and structural engineering.

Participants must be students entering second through sixth grade and register to

reserve their kits by filling out our Google Form on the Summer Reading web page. Space is limited on a first come, first serve basis.

Online Carnegie Science Center: Wild By Design

Engineering is a day at the zoo! Join local scientists and on-screen zoo animals for a LIVE bio-inspired adventure with leaf-blowers, foamy chemistry, and

liquid nitrogen rockets!

Westmoreland Cleanways: Wild About Worms

What has a tail, but no arms or legs, and moves the earth? Join Ms. Natalie from West-moreland Cleanways and Recycling in the library courtyard as we find out by reading a

story, exploring the purpose of a vermicomposting bin and meeting the critters that live inside the bin.

Perform, Create, and Bake a Tale!

Thanks to our friends at WQED Education and Clearview Federal Credit Union, the Children’s Room will be exploring all of the unique ways in which we can

share and experience our own tales using puppets, food, and more.

Starting the day the online video is posted, kids and teens can pick up their kit by visiting the front desk or curbside pickup — while supplies last.
