Building a narrative.

• When building my stop motion animation we had many ideas of a narrative that would be new and original, for example, using pencils and station to create words or lyrics or using hand and feet to again create a similar narrative.

• However we were inspired by the opening of the film footloose and thought we could make an animation based on the sequence.

• So we finally decided we would mix the ideas of using fingers to create letters and also use moving feet to imitate that of the opening section of footloose.

How did you decide what to use.

When making our stop animation one of the problems we were faced was that we were short on resources. We do we had a camera and props wasn’t as we had many shoes we

could play around with to see which looked past on camera, however we could of really done our piece better with a tripod

and a back drop background.

Drafting- How many ideas did you have.Our first ideas;

• Using hands and fingers to create words or lyrics.

• Use stationary to do a similar thing, using words.

• Bring feet and shoes into the equation we then tried to find away to piece all our ides together.

• We then thought it would be good to create a stop animation around the opening sequence to the film footloose.

Did you work with someone?Yes I worked with another student who was in my AS Media class last year, she is a close friend who I also felt I work very well with and wouldn’t let me down. When working with her I found it benefitted us both as

we could easily bounce our ideas of each other.

Were there any limits in terms of resources, time or location?

When creating our stop animation we were faced with a few limitations. Such as;

•We struggled to find a decent background in our location as there was no plain background within the house we could use or create, we then over came this by using an area close to the bottom of the stairs as that is the place where many people keeps their shoes.

•Also when half way through taking our shots there was an issue with the camera we were using, and it would have also been useful to get our hands on our tripod to keep our camera steady.

Radiator is in the way.

You can tell the camera is on a slant.
