Looking back over a month of Taekwondo ++ Important Dates Weds 16 th August: Final Weds Class before Summer Break Sun 13 th August: Final Sunday Class before Summer Break Weekend 7 th -8 th October: National Black Belt Grading Fri 18 th August: Final Friday Class before Summer Break Phoenix Taekwondo was once again invited to perform in the central arena at the Ladygrove Park Primary School Summer Fete: Phoenix Taekwondo occupied the 3p.m. prime spot fielding around 100 members. Apart from the obvious enormous logistical challenge of organising so many performers, this demonstration followed hot on the heels of our big club grading examination only a couple of weeks before, giving everyone only a few classes to prepare for the demonstration. Congratulations to all our members who helped make this demo such a resounding success!

Team GB medal success at the Taekwondo World Championships 2017,
Muju, South Korea
The 23rdWorld Taekwondo Championships,andwasheldinMuju,SouthKoreafromJune24 to June 30, 2017 and Team GB wasfieldingastrongteamofathletes.Buildingonthe current buzz and success of Taekwondoin the U.K. following the Olympic Games,Team GB managed an amazing haul ofmedals. Bianca Walkden managed a GoldMedal, retaining her world title in thewomen’s heavyweight division. Team GB’sMahamaChobaggedaSilverandtherewerebronze medals for the other Team GBmembers Jade Jones, Damon Sansum andBradley Sinden. It’s always great to see theworldclassTaekwondoathletesinactionandpossiblypickupsometipsandtechniquesforyourownTaekwondo.It’sworthpointingoutthat many of the matches from the WorldChampionships can still be found on theinternet.
