legends. Students are sure to have tons of fun, and be enchanted by the

magic that lies within this exci/ng water world ….all the while enriching their

reading, wring, math skills without knowing they are. ….almost as if our

staff have charmed them.

19th at Norgate School. Though children are put into age appropriate

groupings, they also have the opportunity to enhance their social and

leadership skills in mul/-age ac/vi/es.

Program Description:

Movie MakersMovie MakersMovie MakersMovie Makers - Designed for Grade 5-7 students.

At Movie MakersMovie MakersMovie MakersMovie Makers kids work together to create their very own video movie. Par/cipants create an original

script, and shoot the movie on digital video equipment. We start by reviewing and building on some of different elements

involved in making a movie: the script, the camera, costumes and props, etc. as well as different cinema/c styles of

shoo/ng. We'll play some theater games, and talk about what we like to see when we watch a movie.

Then we begin crea/ng our movie. We choose a genre (Ac/on, Fine Art, Documentary) and work together to create the

story. Our amazing instructor from the NV School District, Amanda Dorst, helps write a script based on the kids' ideas,

and shoo/ng begins! The rest of the session is spent making our movie! Everyone takes turns ac/ng, direc/ng, using the

camera, and helping with props and costumes.

It's fun and kids also learn life skills about working together and the crea/ve process. When kids take on the project of

moviemaking you can see them taking themselves seriously . They get out of their roles as kids, and there's a shi& of au-

thority.
