Another bumper edition of our newsletter is a fitting way to end yet another academic year. It is full of student success, enriching experiences and staff reports that demonstrate their continued commitment, talents and dedication to ensuring the very best possible outcomes for your children. You have entrusted us with a wonderfully humbling and privileged opportunity to oversee the development and academic progress of your sons and daughters. Our growth at Madeley School continues and yet again, I am pleased to announce that for the third consecutive year we will be oversubscribed in Year 7 as we look to welcome many new families along with siblings of existing pupils, in September. A wonderful Prom at Tern Hill Hall was a fitting finale for our Year 11 students as they left Madeley having secured places at a wide variety of post 16 providers. I wish them all the very best for the future and look forward to celebrating with them on 22nd August when they come back to collect their results. I know that they all did their absolute best! We are continuing to improve the fabric of the school buildings as we strive to inspire excellence. This year, with the support of the Shaw Education Trust, we have seen a new school roof installed across the whole site, a new boiler system and the repair of the external car park lights. We are in continued dialogue with the Local Authority as we look to add more classroom space to accommodate the extra students that we are now receiving. I will keep you all updated as to progress of this during the next academic year. It will be a busy summer for the site team as we are having a full refurbishment and refit of the boys’ toilets in the main building and a major refurbishment of the Science and Innovation block. This includes new carpets, fully repainted, new display cabinets and some inspiring wall art. As a result of the Shaw Trust Marathon fund we are also benefitting from a refurbished and stocked library. My wish list continues to include the installation a full sized floodlit outdoor all weather facility and I am actively pursuing ways of funding this community resource. I would like to pay a special thanks to the staff who are leaving us at the end of this term. Ms Slight is looking forward to her best years as she retires from teaching having worked at Madeley since 2008. Mrs Yates is leaving to support a family business and Miss Goodhead is taking the opportunity to travel and work in Australia. Finally, Mr Jenkins is taking up a promoted post in another school. They have all been tremendous staff to the students at Madeley and I am sure you will join me in wishing them well for the future. September will see several new talented staff joining us in September. Mr McMeeken is joining the Maths department; Miss Jones and Mrs Mitchell are joining the English Faculty; Mrs O’Leary is joining Languages and Miss Watkiss takes up post as an Apprentice teaching assistant. Our new receptionist, Miss Ray, has made a wonderful start and will be your first point of contact from September on the front desk. Mr Fleming assumes the role of Head of Year 9 with Mr McCue assuming the lead role in Technology and Miss Austin the subject leader in Science. We have been reminding all of our students about the importance of staying safe this summer and especially avoiding the temptation of swimming in open water and I know this message will be re-iterated at home. Please enjoy the break, have some wonderful family time and I look forward to welcoming everybody back safely on 4th September. Mr L Nixon

This half term we have been busy recruiting new Peer Mentors from Year 9 for the new school year as the current Peer Mentors move on into Year 11, many of them with new responsibilities. Thank you to them all for their dedication. We had an unprecedented number of applications for the twenty roles. Mr Walker and Mrs Vickers had great difficulty having to turn people down. As well as the application form and interview, Mr Walker set up some reliability challenges and this enabled us to reach the final decision. Many congratulations to them all.

Senior Peer Mentors Hannah Molyneux

Laura Cairns They have already been working hard spending 2 days with the New Intake Students. They will continue to work with them in September. They have also had a day out of school taking part in the Diana Award with the Anti-Bullying Alliance which was very much enjoyed by them all. They will also receive some training to enable them to make the most of this opportunity.

We held our Key Stage 3 Graduation event to celebrate the successes of our wonderful Year 9 pupils on Thursday 4th July. The hall was packed full of students, parents and staff. Pupils looked amazing in their gowns and graduation hats, and made quite an entrance on the red carpet surrounded by parents clapping! There was musical performances from Ruby, Annie, Scarlett, Izzy Mae and Annie. Paul Griffiths, our VIP guest speaker was truly inspirational, and made everybody reflect and consider how we can all make changes that will lead to further happiness. Mr Nixon and Mr Ostrowski also mentioned about having a positive mindset and being the very best that people can be. The message from the graduation was clear. Students have worked incredibly hard during their Key Stage 3, and the expectations of what they will can achieve in Key Stage 4 are now sky high! Using a growth mind-set approach will help our pupils achieve anything they set their minds to! A big well done to Year 9 pupils on their graduation certificates.

This year we have had 65 Bronze, 17 Silver and another 6 Gold participants have been added to our numbers! The 17 silver pupils completed their qualifying expedition at the beginning of July in the Peak District, it was tough due to the changing weather, despite this they all managed to complete and pass their expedition section, congratulations to all the pupils who completed! The 65 Bronze pupils also had the varying weather conditions to contend with for their training and practice expedition, they now have their qualifying expedition to complete in September, but they have been tirelessly working to log and complete their hours for all sections as well as completing their practice expedition in the local area. Well done to all!

Mr Jenkins

Dear Friends, Colleagues, Parents, Students and All at Madeley School,

I have enjoyed an amazing two years at Madeley that have been incredibly engaging, challenging and rewarding, often in equal measure. I have loved (nearly) every minute of working at this fantastic school and being part of an excellent team. I joined to become the Assistant SENDCO, I have been very blessed to have such a dedicated, and hard-working team, who I will miss thoroughly, any one of my wonderful colleagues is welcome to join me in my new school.

I will of course miss our wonderful students, who make up the life of any school. I have again been very blessed with many wonderful classes over these last years and I have been particularly lucky to have such an amazing form group who have made me proud to be part of such an excellent year group. I know that all the students I have had the privilege to teach will go on to do amazing and inspiring things. I look forward to your future, where I am in no doubt that you will be doing amazing things and achieving everything, you want in life. When you are in a position of excellence, do not forget your favourite teacher, who might have helped you in some small way. All the best for the future Madeley, continue to inspire excellence in one another. I hope to see you soon. Mr Jenkins.

Miss Goodhead I would like to say a massive thank you to everybody who has helped and supported me at Madeley, the staff that I have worked with, the pupils and the parents. Being Head of year has come with a whole host of opportunities and challenges along the way but it has been incredible to form such unforgettable memories with my year group. Madeley will always have a special place in my heart being a former pupil myself and being from the village - it is a fantastic school with amazing pupils. I will take my memories to Australia with me thank you all!

Ms Slight I’d just like to say that my time at Madeley has been a very happy one. Although I am looking forward to my retirement, I know that I will miss teaching, I will miss the pupils and I will miss the staff. I have many good memories to take away with me. I honestly feel that I have completed my career on a high note – Madeley is a lovely school and you can be proud of it. So, it’s the start of a new era, it’s Adiós and Au-Revoir but not Adieu. See you around!

Mrs Yates I’ve spent 9 wonderful years at Madeley and it has been a second family to me. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed developing my career here, making life-long friends and teach-ing some incredible youngsters. I will be leaving with some great memories and I will miss the community I have become such a part of. I’d like to thank the English Department because, well, they’re awesome! as well as all the staff who have supported me or given me some good laughs over the years, and the parents who have passed on comments that have made this job worthwhile too. Thank you!

Arts Award We have been very lucky this year to trial the nationally recognised Bronze Arts Award with a group of year 9 and year 10 artists. Pupils have had the opportunity to investigate people in the arts who inspire them, learn new skills, share skills and visit some fantastic arts events. They have worked tirelessly after school to review, present and deliver their findings and have created a very impressive body of work. The work was moderated this week and we have had had fantastic feed-back with the high level of skill involved being praised. Each student has passed and should feel very pleased with themselves. They will be awarded a certificate at a later date as well as seeing their work exhibited around the school. So watch this space! As a faculty we are very pleased to announce that all year 9 students from September will be working towards their Bronze Arts Award and some of our GCSE students will begin trialling Silver Arts Award. Year 7 Art Club A group of year 7 students have been enjoying the freedom during art club to explore materials and themes that they are interested in. We have had some very exciting outcomes and they are looking forward to continuing art club in September as year 8's. I've had great fun running this club. well done everyone.

Music exams have gone very well, with all year 7's completing their exams in music and the opting year 9's have also completed their music exam. For year 7, approximately 96% have achieved grades 1-3, whilst 20% have achieved band 3, 33% a band 2, and 31% a band 1. For year 9 opting pupils, 95% achieved a band 3 - 6. In particular, Annie Hill, and Oscar Brown both achieved over 90% score on their music exam, which are out-standing results. Year 10 music students have completed their final mock exam of the year, with excellent results. At least 60% of students have achieved a band 6-9 equivalent. Furthermore, all of key stage 3 have been writing their own musical remixes (taking recorded songs and ed-iting them to create a new mix), composing their own songs and performing to the class for their final assign-ment this term. Some pupils have also utilised the recording studio and have recorded their singing as part of the assignment. Others have also used the recording studio to remix a song using the "mixing desk" (which is very advanced for KS3). This term has been a major breakthrough for some pupils whom have never per-formed live before, so they have done extremely well and demonstrated excellent courage amongst their peers.

Drama GCSE students have worked really hard this week on their first practical exam. A lot of time and effort has gone into producing this work. Well done year 10! Year 7 are working brilliantly on filming their adverts based on 'Wacky Soap'; Year 8 have been learning scripts from the play 'Stone Cold'; and year 9 have watched a Live Theatre performance of the 'Madness' musical, 'Our House'. Thursday 11th July was our summer show and featured various performers, musicians and dancers. They all worked really hard and it was a fantastic celebration of our young peoples talent here at Madeley.

The Year 11 Ball took place on Friday 28th June and everyone enjoyed a fantastic final farewell at the

fabulous venue of Tern Hill Hall. The weather was gorgeous and all the pupils looked absolutely fantastic in

their outfits and arrived for the evening in a variety of luxury cars. Plenty of awards were given out and

memories were shared, it was a lovely evening for everyone who attended

This years GCSE exams started on May 13th, students had a very busy 4 weeks that were crammed with GCSE's. All pupils approached the exams with great maturity. Their conduct and behaviour was impeccable. It was a very hard four weeks for them with most pupils having 2 exams everyday, one day we had a group of pupils who had 3 exams so had a very long day not leaving school until 5.00pm. We wish them all good luck for results day on Thursday 22nd August and all the best for the future and look forward to welcoming them back in November for the GCSE awards evening, when it will be lovely to hear where they have gone to and the courses they have chosen to do.

On Wednesday 12th June a group of Year 8 pupils went to Bet 365 Stadium for the afternoon. We had a tour of the stadium, including the pitch and seating area, pupils even got to sit in the very seats where the players sit! Pupils got to hear all about the club, its history and what it’s like to have a career both on the pitch and off within the media and other opportunities that Bet 365 offer. Thank you to Stoke City for having us.

On Wednesday 10th July Year 8 will be going to Keele University for a day trip, the day will involve a tour of the campus and to experience some workshops and lectures. Pupils will have the opportunity to speak to Keele students about their experiences of University as well as to speak with some of the staff who work there. I am sure that it will be a great day out for all!

As the summer trip Year 8 and 9 will be going to Alton Towers on Monday 15h July, this was a great success last year we are hoping for good weather and a day to be spent enjoying the rides and spending time as a year group before the summer holidays.

As a year group Year 8 have done so many amazing things already so far. I am sure they will continue to do so much more as they progress through their school life at Madeley. A summary below shows everything that they have been involved in as a year group together.

Working in partnership with our community police we take this opportunity to remind students of the importance of playing safe over the summer break.

Ensure that your parent/carer is aware of where you are playing. Agree a time to return home. Don’t talk to or be encouraged to go off with strangers.

Ride your bike safely and ensure it is roadworthy. Wear a helmet and respect other road users.

Stay hydrated, drink plenty of fluids. Stay out of the mid-day sun. Use sun protection.

Observe ‘Keep Out’ notices – They’re there for a reason; it’s not safe to play!

Open water like lakes and reservoirs can be very tempting for people to cool down in during hot weather, but they can be extremely dangerous too. They may look very inviting but they can be very deep and cold even in direct sunlight. Even the most experienced swimmers can find themselves struggling in a few minutes. Our message is very simple, ‘please don’t take the risk’. We would always urge people who want to go swimming to be safe and go to public, supervised pools. You can find out where your nearest leisure centres are online.

During the Summer the countryside is extremely dry which means the risk of fires is particularly high.

We’ve already seen a number of quite serious grass and forest fires in parts of the county and we want to try and prevent this from happening again. Wild fires can threaten people, property and wildlife, putting lives at risk. Please put any rubbish in bins or take it home with you, especially glass and plas-tic bottles as they can magnify sunlight and cause fires. If anyone does see a fire please call 999 imme-diately.

Festival Safe Website Although Glastonbury, perhaps the biggest music festival, has passed there will be many more festivals over the next couple of months including Boomtown, Camp Bestival, NASS and Reading and Leeds. Many teenagers will be attending their first big festival this summer and whilst personal safety might not be immediately on their mind, the Festival Safe website offers lots of very good information for first timers and hardened veterans. This excellent resource includes infor-mation about the fun side, but also about alcohol and drugs, crime, what to do in an emergency and how to stay safe. The website can be found here: https://www.festivalsafe.com/

Geography Field Trip to Llandudno We have had a fantastically hectic fieldwork schedule in the Geography Department this Summer Term! Both Mr Walker and I are proud of the fact that this year we have met our goal of being able to provide Geography trips for ALL Year Groups. Here is the range of enrichment experiences that we offered this year, which underpin our Geography curriculum at Madeley: Year 7 - Peak District, Staffordshire/Cheshire - Landforms along the course of the River Dane Year 8 - Castleton, Derbyshire - Underground Limestone Landscapes Year 8 - Llanfairfechan, North Wales - Coastal depositional landscapes and Management Year 9 - Iceland - Volcanic and Glacial Landscapes Year 10 - Llandudno, North Wales - GCSE fieldwork - Coastal Landforms and Tourism Year 11 - Liverpool - Urban Change Our Year 10s enjoyed two days fieldwork in Llandudno recently, investigating both Physical and Human Geography as part of their GCSE Geography course. This involved measuring beach slope angles and sediment sizes on the West shore beach in order to prove that sediment size affects the gradient of a beach. In the town centre of Llandudno, Land-Use Surveys were completed in order to prove that Tourist Function changes with distance from the beach. All students worked really hard and behaviour was, as ever, impeccable. Once again, we ordered some sun especially for the trip!

On Monday the 1st July, 33 Year 9 and Year 10 students attended the Higher Horizons - Inspiring Futures Careers Fair at Keele Hall. The event was an excellent opportunity for our youngsters to get an insight into the local and national labour markets and provision post 16 with representation from local colleges, training providers and universities. Some key highlights were the Staffordshire Police, The Royal Navy, Royal Stoke NHS Trust and the Civil Service representative from Work and Pensions. One of the key messages is that academic qualifications is not enough; applicants for college and employment need to be able to demonstrate a wider skill set of employability skills through extra-curricular and intramural curricular volunteering, participation and on-going self-evaluation and improvement. These will all be planned into next years Personal Development programme .

On Wednesday 3rd July we were fortunate enough to secure guest speaker Nicola Gough, Head of Engineering Closures at Bentley, as part of the Speakers 4 Schools programme. Nicola shared her career development to date and how companies like Bentley value work experience for students. She also supported independently the same reterick from the careers fair - that constant self-evaluation and improvement is essential for the very highest level of careers and employment positions. She also stated how important going above and beyond academic qualifications is a necessity and students selling themselves and their skills in personal statements and CV’s to set them apart from the competition! This was a great introduction to preparing for our work experience activities morning. All Year 10 go out on work experience in the last week of term and we wish them all well. All Year 10 attended college taster days at NULC and south Cheshire colleges this was a super opportunity for our pupils to explore the fantastic facilities at the two most popular destinations for our pupils on leaving Madeley at 16. The colleges were very impressed with behaviour and attitudes of our pupils.

The most recent review of Class Charts, which is used to track behaviour, has shown that Year 7 have had a consistently high positive behaviour of between 98-99% for the entire year, a magnificent achievement show-ing that almost all of the pupils strive daily to maintain outstanding behaviour. All behaviour and rewards are now awarded via this platform and are available for both parents and pupils to view live at any time. The attendance of Year 7, as a collective, is currently at 97.08%, which is above national average and an outstanding figure to achieve also beating the school’s own target of 96%. Uniform standards and expectations continue to be led daily by excellent Form Tutors, in order for the year group to look smart and ready for school. In the most recent examinations, Year 7 worked hard and conducted themselves very well, so well done to all. Throughout the year to date there have been many opportunities for trips and extra-curricular visits. Well done to the pupils who went to deliver collected items, of which there were many, to the City Dogs home in the Autumn term. We attended the Panto and workshop in December. This term we all very proud of ourselves for completing our Race for Life Event in May where we raised a truly amazing amount of £1,200.45 for Cancer Research, and most recently the year group visited the 'Big Bang' Science event at Staffordshire University which was a fantastic event. We need also to applaud our fantastic sportsmen and women who have participated in a wide range of sports representing the school admirably, showing the desire to win but not at the expense of good sports-person- ship. Looking ahead to the end of this summer term, Year 7 will be spending the day of their end of year annual celebration trip at Chester Zoo. As well as this, there will also be an additional KS3 trip based on behaviour using the new Class Charts system to Uttoxeter for cinema, pizza and bowling. Overall, a very busy and productive year so far with many successes to celebrate - well done Year 7.

Big Bang Fair In June, Miss Jones and Science Department took 140 Year 7 students to the West Midlands Big Bang Fair at Staffordshire University to explore and discover exciting things from the world of STEM. Highlights of the day were the shows about space exploration with Dallas Campbell, who deemed Mrs Dobson the most likely person in the room to become an astronaut, and the meerkats and other animals in the Exotic Zoo! Ethan Maughan and Jake Pardington particularly enjoyed the hands on purple zone where they got to take part in Lego robot challenges. It was here also that Vesna Dresova and her team took part in a civil engineering challenge to build and test their own suspension bridge from scratch. A brilliant day out was had by all Year 7!

Young Engineer of the Year Award On the 1st of July we went to Newcastle College for the final of Robot Rivalries, which was this year’s KMF Young Engineer of the Year Award challenge.

During our time working on our robot, Dave, we learnt a lot about design, engineering, and teamwork.

At the final there were 16 robots, all of them were unique and had their own strengths and weaknesses. We had to fight in rounds where 4 robots would battle it out in the arena at once, with one coming out as the victor. As well as producing a battle robot we also had to create a presentation around what robots could do in the future, we chose automated agriculture, and while Dave wasn’t able to win we still had a great time and it’s an experience we will all remember. Review by J Richards Duke of Edinburgh's Award Engineering Group For my skills section for my Duke of Edinburgh's Award me and the team produced two amazing Greenpower cars for the Meadows Primary school to race. It was an exciting project and on the race day we got to the semi-finals, but the end was very dramatic as one car crashed into the barrier! We were incredibly proud of our primary school teams, their achievements as STEM learners. Review by C Machin STEM Event On Tuesday 2nd July Mr Mayers accompanied our Y10 Design and Technology GCSE students to a STEM event at Newcastle College. To mark the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing pupils looked at programming methods and investigative approaches to safely land a spacecraft (egg) on the Moon. All pupils involved had a fun and interesting day.

Attendance Congratulations to all the pupils and the support of parents/ carers on exceeding the school attendance tar-get of 96% with the whole school attendance being 96.29%!!! (last academic year's attendance was 95.83%).

A break down of year groups shows all current year groups exceeding 96%:

Year 7= 97.01% Year 8= 96.86% Year 9= 96.92%

Year 10= 96.04% Punctuality Being on time is something that is expected in all aspects of our lives. This is why we continue to drive this item and show why coming to school and getting to lessons is so important. We are extremely pleased to say that our punctuality rate for the whole school remains low and has improved this year compared to last year at 1.39% (last year was 1.50%). Once again this is down to parents, pupils and staff. Class Charts Behaviour Since Class Charts has been introduced the positive behaviour in and around school remains extremely high at 94%. Next year's plan, is to improve on this further by focusing on specific targeted low level behaviours within the classroom to ensure pupils get the highest quality learning environment in all classrooms, all of the time. As a reminder to parents in September, through Class charts you will be able to access, attendance, homework, behaviour, rewards and detentions. No need to click on different apps it is all in one now. We will send out details again in September, can we please encourage all parents to access the Class Charts app as this will be a key part of communication about how your child is getting on in school. Additional support We are delighted to receive additional specialist support for our pupils when they need it, we have two new offers of support through emotional coaching and art therapy. The art therapy is due to be running in September and the emotional coaching has been taking place 1 day per week over the past 5 weeks. We have had a number of pupils who are benefiting greatly from the coaching which is run by our close partners, Attend. Why we feel emotional coaching is needed? 1 in 10 children suffer from a mental illness, be it diagnosed or undiagnosed. CAMHS waiting lists can be long or we may find that some children don’t meet the criteria. Aim of Emotional Coaching: To support children, schools and parents / carers in dealing with mental health issues by providing an early intervention. When a situation occurs in the home, at school or another setting that begins to influence a child/young person they may become angry, withdrawn, upset, depressed, anxious, frustrated etc. This may have a knock-on effect on their behaviour, sleep, concentration, appetite, attendance, physical health amongst other things. Emotional / Physical Coaching works by exploring those emotions; talking it through, using play to under-stand and express feelings, sharing coping strategies and self-help advice. Mental health strategy Mrs Snape has been working hard this year to develop a policy and strategy about mental health. Mrs Snape has also been working closely with our Year 10 student mental health champion to identify where help is most needed and developing an action plan to support this. All exciting times ahead to support our pupils here at Madeley School.

As part of their Working with Others unit for their COPE qualification our year 10 group planned and successfully ran a coffee morning for staff asking for donations which they gave to comic relief. They developed the following key skills from this task:- Effective communication Team work Planning Active listening Customer service Mutual support. They raised just under £70 for their charity and successfully gained enough portfolio evidence for this module of their COPE qualification. In addition we have also had four groups of year nine pupils take part in the SCFC premier league enterprise course, each successfully achieving an OCR accredited short course qualification in business enterprise. As part of their course they had two trips to the BET 365 stadium, the first being an induction to the course and the later being a reward and qualification certificate presentation trip. Very well done to both years 9 and 10.

We regularly send information emails to parents and carers, if you do not currently receive these or if you need to update any of your contact details, please email us at [email protected] to update your details.

The Bridge group have been working hard to improve the school environment and planting up the garden to learn more about where the food that we eat comes from and what habitats there are in our local area. The pupils will be taking the fruit and vegetables home that they have grown, with recipes to try over the holidays. We hope they have as much fun cooking and eating as they have growing and tending to the garden!

The students have also been making models of a river to develop their understanding of the hydrological cycle, the different courses of a river and how rivers shape the landscape. We hope to use the model we made to replicate how rainfall causes rivers to form and link this to future learning on coasts.

U13 Cricket County Cup After a comfortable victory by 9 wickets in Rd.1 against St Margaret Ward (St Margaret Ward 49-5, Madeley 51-1) the team were defeated in Rd.2 by a strong John Taylor team also by 9 wickets (Madeley 43-5, Madeley 44-1). Newcastle Schools Festival The annual Newcastle schools cricket festival was once again a competitive affair, the round robin format between the five schools threw up some extremely close finishes with a number of games going down to the last over. The team finished a creditable 3rd with two wins against St John Fisher and Newcastle-under-Lyme school from their 4 games.

U15 Cricket County Cup The U15’s had a an outstanding season which culminated in being crowned county champions in the Vase competition which is open to all Staffordshire state schools. To come out as winners for the first time is a fantastic achievement and is something the boys can feel immensely proud of. The boys reached the final courtesy of a first rd. bye and then clinical victories over Alleynes Stone by 8 wickets and Cheadle Academy by 72 runs. This was largely thanks to an outstanding all round performance from Matt Waller who scored 56 not out with the bat, took 4 wickets for 10 runs with the ball along with a catch and a run out! The final was a nail biting affair against a spirited Thomas Alleynes High School. Madeley dug deep to post 109-9 from 20 overs. This was thanks to a breezy 16 from Matt Waller, a composed 23 from Jack Harvey and a cameo 20 not out from Harry Taylor. For the most part Madeley kept Thomas Alleynes behind the run rate with some disciplined bowling and wickets at crucial times. All credit to Thomas Alleynes they kept fighting and took the game down to the last over, with just 10 needed James Richardson held his nerve finishing with 1-21 off his 4 overs and conceded just 3 runs in the last over to see Madeley crowned county champions by 6 runs. Athletics The athletics season got underway in the summer term with the Junior District Athletics meet at Northwood Stadium. There were some excellent performances throughout the day from Madeley’s athletes. Congratulations to the following girls; Chelsey Viggars for finishing 1st in the Javelin, Isabelle Johns for finishing 3rd in the Shot and Mika Sagar for finishing 3rd in the 1500m. Chelsey went on to represent the Newcastle schools in the County Athletics event finishing 6th overall in Javelin. The boys had similar success in their events. Josua Mancell-Chesters finished 1st in the Long Jump, Alexion Southwick-Williams finished 3rd in the Long Jump and Dylan Marchant finished 3rd in the 1500m. Alexion and Josua qualified for the County Athletics event where they finished 6th and 9th respectively. Well done to them all!
