when we bring harm to ourselves, and
facing the loss of people in our lives.

Today’s Lesson:
God the Covenant-Maker:
The Testing of Abraham
In this session we see how Abraham’s faith in God’s
promise was put to the test. God commanded Abraham
to sacrifice Isaac, the very son Abraham and Sarah had
been promised and God had finally given them. Believing
God would somehow be true to His word, Abraham was
willing to obey, even if it meant giving up his beloved
son. This event gives us a picture of the special sacrifice
God requires for sin and a picture of saving faith in God’s
promises. As we embrace God’s promises, we are
empowered to engage in His mission.
