SUMMARY

The Department of Public Works and Highways

(DPWH) is one of the three departments of thegovernment undertaking major infrastructure

projects !t functions as the engineering and

construction arm of the government tasked to

continuously develop its technology for the purpose

of ensuring the safety of all infrastructure facilities

and securing for all public works and highways the

highest e"ciency and #uality in construction

To be able to implement projects throughout

the country e"ciently$ DPWH builds regional$ districtand sub%district engineering o"ces all over the

Philippines$ and one of them is the &avite !! District

ve$ ,rgy -aybagal *outh$ Tagaytay &ity$ &avite

The &avite !! District 'ngineering "ce of

DPWH covers the .thDistrict of &avite/ Tagaytay &ity

and the municipalities of lfonso$ 0eneral 'milio

guinaldo$ !ndang$ +agallanes$ +aragondon$

+ende1$ 2aic and Ternate DPWH &avite !! 'ngineersare the one assigned to do road constructions and

their maintenance and school building and rural

health unit constructions on those places under the

said legislative district

During the run of my internship$ ! was assigned

to focus on the development of the proposed

e3tension of the +aragondon 4ural Health 5nit 6irst$

! was tasked to estimate the amount and cost of the

materials that will be used for the said project$ mysupervisor then decided to also assign me the

drafting of the project ! was also given the chance to

present the plans to the head doctor of the

+aragondon 4H5 and to discuss the changes that

they wish to make

! felt so happy and blessed that ! was entrusted

those tasks because those are the things that actual

engineers do

INTRODUCTION

The DPWH &avite !! District 'ngineering "ce

(D') had si3 main departments namely/

*ection$ +aintenance *ection and 7uality +aterials

and Testing *ection ! was assigned to be under the

supervision of 'ngr Wenceslao 4 4obledo$ the chief

of Planning and Design *ection$ for the whole

duration of my internship that started on pril 89$
