Dear Derek, I hope you are alright, sorry for the slight delay of this letter; we had a very busy week! However, I am pleased to announce that we had a fantastic day; our Tea Party (which is now third for us) was a very special experience, it was held at the Institute for Adult Blind People (Address: 21 Hermina út 1146 Hungary) on 16th March between 15:00 and 16:30. Our Tea Party was organised on March 16 th , because March 15 th is a bank holiday in Hungary. This Tea Party was open for everybody in the Institute, it was advertised by the Institute, and finally we had more than 30 guests. As always, we had a great support from the Department of the Dietetics and Nutrition Sciences of the Semmelweis University Faculty of Health Sciences, this time eight students volunteered our event. Week before we had a special training organised by the Institute for Adult Blind People, we could try how we can cope with different type of situation when we can’t see (for example to serve not a tea, just a glass of water). This was requested by the Institute, but it was a very enriching experience for all of us.

Dear Derek,

I hope you are alright, sorry for the slight delay of this letter; we had a very busy week! However, I am pleased to announce that we had a fantastic day; our Tea Party (which is now third for us) was a very special experience, it was held at the Institute for Adult Blind People (Address: 21 Hermina út 1146 Hungary) on 16th March between 15:00 and 16:30.

Our Tea Party was organised on March 16th, because March 15th is a bank holiday in Hungary. This Tea Party was open for everybody in the Institute, it was advertised by the Institute, and finally we had more than 30 guests. Feedback on our Global Tea Party from Dietitian students:

“[...]I felt elated to help, I met wonderful people, at training and at the Tea Party. I am really pleased that they taught us how to help a blind person professionally. Once again, thank you for the opportunity.”

“At the start I was scared that I might mess something up, but after the first few minutes the fear passed, and I felt much more grateful that I could take part in such an event. They were very nice. It very good that they went to all the effort of making us candles...”

“I really liked the atmosphere of the whole afternoon. I liked the presentation, because it was very good to hear a professional, who could be given what they planned. With visually impaired people the case is even more important especially the mode of presentation...”

Nutrition and Hydration Week: Week commencing 13 March: on our Facebook page we dealt with the importance of

hydration and preventing malnutrition. The Nutritional Academy’s Newsletter in March was also linked to preventing

malnutrition and dehydration in low vision (Tips for cooking and eating with low vision, How to teach people with low vision etc.)
