A Convention Centre is a specially designed hospitality property dedicated to providing an environment most conductive to effective meetings, convention and exhibition. The Centre provides a distraction free, comfortably furnished and fully equipped facility with the added important feature of a professional staff trained to provide a high level of services to the meeting planner and conference attendees. At such a Centre, all aspects of the facility design, the conference support services, the food and beverage program, and the recreational amenities, enhance and further the goals of the meeting.

Executive convention centre: It is oriented towards corporate meetings, including both training and management development. Such centres feature large no. of conference rooms, multiple dining ,large no. of breakout rooms and moderate recreational facilities.

Resort convention centre: They have somewhat less meeting space than executive ones by have more accommodation, dining and recreational facilities.

• Sonipat is the upcoming City in Haryana, which is catering all the needs and requirements of its people to maintain present living conditions.

• When a city is developing at this pace and companies are very much interested to expand their businesses here.

• So there must be a platform where these units can showcase their capabilities and products to the outside world.

• There is no such type of structure in Sonipat which is purely designed to cater large conventions.

• From here the problem arises to which I found a solution to provide them such a huge platform which helps them to grow at more rapid pace.

Corporate conference and training centre: They are the largest of several categories .the contain more conference spaces to meet specific training needs.

University convention centre : They meet three different needs : the most luxurious are designed for dedicated business schools executive education programs: others provide for campus visitors and educational conferences, or for growing continuing education programs

AIMS & OBJECTIVES OF PROJECT

To undertake, organize and facilitate study courses, conferences, seminars, lectures and research in matters relating to different cultural patterns of the world

The project will become a famous landmark for the city which will make the reputation of the city around the country.

To study the inception and need of ICC To study the ICC and its surrounding relationship. To maximise the natural potentials of the site in the form of topography and climate

for inspiring the architecture of built form and the landscape. The design must meet the needs of the market and enable the operator to run the

building successfully for all types of event. The convention centre has different tenants every day, using the building for

different types of event; it needs to be as flexible as possible, to meet the exact needs of each individual customer.

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT International  Convention  Centre  (ICC)  as  the  name  suggests  is  a  podium  to  perform   global  activities.   The design demonstrates the following:  

• An  exercise  in  sustainable planning  of  a  facility  that  will  host  multiple  functions.   • A magnetic hub creating avenues of job opportunities.   • An  iconic  masterpiece  as  a  part  of  design  that  will  be  the  landmark  of  the

future

• Convention complex   • Mini Conferences • Meeting Rooms • Restaurants  • Residences  • Services and parking

SITE INFORMATION

Area of site :- 7 ACRES Site location :- Rajiv Gandhi Education City,Sonipat,Haryana,India Floor Area Ratio :- 150% Per. ground Coverage :- 30% Max. Permissible Height :- 30MSite Features :- -Surrounded by roads from two sides. -Direct approach to the NH1. Connectivity :- -40 Km away from Delhi. -15 Km away from Railway Station,Sonipat. -13Km away from Bus Stand,Sonipat -60Km away from Delhi Airport.

The site for International Convention Centre is located in Rajiv Gandhi Education City , Sonipat , Haryana, India.

In Rajiv Gandhi Education City there are many upcoming projects like Staff housing , Indoor and Outdoor sports complex , Bus stand , Media centre , Architectural school etc.
