3.3 Educational publications and products: Class notes and readers (a recent selection of)
O’Neil, S. M. (2016). A short guide to APA referencing. Unpublished notes for MHB 795, NME 707, BDO 373, version 2016.1. (14 pages).
o A summative guide to APA referencing written as reference source for students taking research modules that I teach.
O’Neil, S. M. (2015). A guide to systematic reviews in the management sciences. Unpublished reader for MHB 795. (30 pages).
o When I developed the MHB 795 module, little resources was available to explain systematic reviews in social sciences fields. It was therefore necessary to develop some reference guide from the available sources from the medical sciences where it was used at the time. In the meantime a number of textbooks have devoted chapters to systematic reviews specifically. I still use the reader though, as it is more comprehensive than the chapters currently available.
O’Neil, S. M. (2016). Student guide to MHB 795. Unpublished brochure for MHB 795 students.
o This is a short, two page brochure summarising the process followed during the MHB 795 module for the students.
O’Neil, S. M. (2016). Supervisor guide to MHB 795. Unpublished brochure for supervisors of MHB 795 students.
o Although I co-ordinate the MHB 795 module, students are allocated to supervisors who are primarily responsible for their projects. This is a short summary of the process for supervisors.
Study guides for all modules taught.

3.4 Educational publications and products: Other
O’Neil, S. M. (2013). Why MHB 795? Unpublished DVD of student experiences of MHB 795.
o Students are reluctant to engage in research activities. Especially on honours level, the students feel overwhelmed with the amount of work they have to do for a single research project. They often do not see the use of learning research and academic writing conventions. In 2013, I compiled a short DVD showing how student perceptions changed from the beginning to the end of the module. Primarily, it focussed on what they have learned, and whether they see it as useful. In the beginning of each module, I show the new students this DVD.
