A we should stop consuming seafood.

B plastic waste is harmless to marine life.

C plastic pollution has become a problem world-wide.

D our food chain is barely affected by plastic pollution.

Plastic pollution is a global crisis. Most of the plastic waste is washed into the sea by rivers and ends up poisoning sea birds and marine life like marine turtles, dolphins, whales and even worse, our major marine resource – seafood. Based on the 2017 study in the journal of Scientific Reports; it is reported that microplastic has seeped into the flesh of fish, which is then eaten by humans (source: www.nature.com). That is quite worrisome as microplastic has entered our food chain!

Question 16 to 25

Read the following movie poster synopsis and reviews. Then, answer the questions that follow.

Upin & Ipin : Keris Siamang Tunggal or Upin & Ipin : The

Lone Gibbon Kris is a 2019 Malaysian computer-animated adventure

film, directed by Adam Amiruddin, Syed Nurfaiz Khalid Syed Ibrahim

and Ahmad Razuri Roseli.

After a short prelude and without much lingering, Upin & Ipin:

Keris Siamang Tunggal has chalked up RM 25 million in ticket sales in

just three weeks since it opened in cinemas on March, 21.

It is the fourth feature film based on the animated TV

series Upin & Ipin by Les' Copaque Production after Geng : The

Adventure Begins (2009) and Upin & Ipin : Jeng Jeng Jeng! (2016).

A pleasant surprise however, is the range of emotions one

finds on the faces of the boys that may have been simplified for

TV. This goes for some of the other main players in the show as well.

The colours and details poured to the many backgrounds in the film

are also pretty impressive.

SYNOPSIS

The story of Keris Siamang Tunggal kicks off with Upin, Ipin and their friends finding a bladeless

keris while cleaning Tok Dalang’s shed. After an incident with the keris, the youngsters are magically

transported into a fantasyland named Inderaloka where they meet a guy named Mat Jenin. Upin and Ipin

also meet other characters who are known to us, such as Pak Belalang, Nakhoda Ragam and Bawang

Putih at Inderaloka.

As the friends go exploring in this kingdom, Upin and Ipin learn that they might have a connection

with the keris and what is happening in Inderaloka, ruled by the cruel king Raja Bersiong.

Frankly, there are many admirable elements to catch here!

The story line is super-awesome with

breathtaking CGI work! Funny, eye catching,

thrilling and packed with original Malay family

values. Every minute of the story is so

enjoyable.

I underestimate this movie at first since it is a

kid's movie but it exceeds my expectation. I love

that it referenced some popular Malay legends.

I really recommend this to people who like

action adventure movie.

It is definitely by far the best Malaysian movie I must say. Complete with a

great storyline filled with meaningful Malay fairy tales in addition to an epic

musical and character development. Congratulations to the team.

It was his first day working at Walmart and Cameron Aulner had a few butterflies

in his stomach. An hour into the shift, he had already made a couple of sales. Out of the

blue, a man started shouting, “Stop that man”, from another part of the store. Aulner who

had lost the use of his legs eight years earlier in a fall from a roof, backed up his

wheelchair to avoid trouble. “There must be a shoplifter,” he thought. “None of my

business.” However, the voice grew louder and then the man said something about a little

girl.

Chris Belvin was shopping with his two young sons. He had thought of taking a

pass on Walmart that morning as he had woken up with a flu and was moving slowly.

However, it was his younger son Keegan’s eighth birthday and they usually went to the

store, before heading home for cake. Now with his wife, Cindy, trawling the grocery

aisles, he took Keegan and Adam, ten, to check out the toys.

A former security guard, Belvin immediately noticed the scruffy man in a tan

baseball hat walking quickly down the aisles. The man did not look like he was

shopping. Then, Belvin heard the cry of a little girl, “Somebody help me!”

In the LEGO aisle, a ten-year-old girl had been pushing her two-year-old brother

in a cart. Now Belvin overheard her frantically telling someone that a man had just

grabbed her backside. “Was he wearing a black shirt and a tan baseball hat?” Belvin

asked her. When she said yes, he took off to find him.

Heading towards the front of the store, he spotted the man about 30 metres ahead

walking rapidly towards the door. As Belvin closed in on him, the man started running.

Belvin yelled, “Stop him! That man had just molested a little girl.” Then he saw

Cameron Aulner leave his station and wheeled quickly towards the checkout aisles. “I

thought, What is this man going to do?”

As Belvin describes the situation, “Cameron wheeled himself in front of the

assailant at the perfect time. The suspect crashed into him, and Cameron fell out of his

chair.” Belvin and two other men ran over to them, while Aulner struggled to hang on to

the suspect, whom he had dragged to the floor as he went down. “I think he was really

surprised that a man in a wheelchair just tackled him,” says Aulner. While one of the

other men helped Aulner back into his chair, Belvin jerked the suspect to his feet. The

man tried to pull away, but by the time the store’s security guard appeared a few minutes

later, the suspect had given up.

“It is not in every call you respond to that the suspect is already subdued,” says

James Bolger, the police officer on the scene. As he led the assailant, Kevin Salyers

away, a group of customers let loose a string of harsh words. Belvin meanwhile, rounded

up his sons and returned to the little girl, who later told the police that Salyers had passed

her twice and then squeezed her backside as she tried to press against a shelf of toys.

The girls’ parents, who had been shopping elsewhere in the store, rushed to their

daughter’s side and thanked Belvin and Aulner. So did other shoppers. Aulner said he

acted on instinct and credits his only season of high school football for his winning

tackle. “You do not disrespect a woman, whether she is two or 100,” he says, adding “I

do not think of myself as a hero. I just did what is right.”

The Living Photograph

My small grandmother is tall there,

straight-back, white broderie anglaise shirt,

pleated skirt, flat shoes, grey bun,

a kind, old smile round her eyes.

Her big hand holds mine,

white hand in black hand.

Her sharp blue eyes look her own death in the eye.

It was true after all; that look.

My tall grandmother became small.

Her back round and hunched.

Her soup forgot to boil.

She went to the awful place grandmothers go.

Somewhere unknown, unthinkable.

But there she is still,

in the photo with me at three,

the crinkled smile is still living, breathing
