real and the best part is, they are ALL CHOCOLATE!Yummmmm :-) You can make them out of one shade ofchocolate or blend a couple shades, to kick them up evenmore. You also could make them out of white chocolate clayand add some rainbow discofor Christmas. I did a few

weddings below, where I gilded them in gold hi-liter dustfor agorgeous look. On the wedding with the red bands, they had agarland of pine and real cones surrounding the table. YouREALLY could not tell the difference. I was beaming :-)

Here's a couple great tips by Denise (Wright) Fox:

Do you love covering your cake boards with white self-

adhesive shelf paper but hate the wrinkled look it leaves alongthe border? Cover the border with double stick tape followedby a ribbon.

Take a roll of shipping tape on each delivery to quickly pick upsmall pieces of Styrofoam from the box of candle holders orknife set that seem to stick to everything on the cake table.

This month's tutorial is on making an ADORABLE little cowboyboot(s) This set is great for any western themed cakes, masculine to baby shower. I recently did a baby shower cakeand had so much fun making these boots. I thought I neededto share with you all :-) Of course, you can make them anycolors you want.

    1. We will use the five piece cutter set, see here.

    2. When I made these, I used fondant with a little tyloseadded to make it dry quicker. You can also use gumpaste. Roll

your paste somewhat thin and cut one toe piece per boot. Ialso took a tiny stitch wheel and went around the whole pieceto make tiny stitches. This step is optional.

    3. You can drape this piece over the styrofoam shoe formerswe carry, or just shape it over something else you might have, some cotton perhaps. Let that set up until it's getting firm andwill hold it's own shape pretty well. Don't let it dry completelythough.

    4. Roll some paste out for your sole. Make this part a littlethicker because we will be gluing parts to the side or lip part of

this piece. Around 1/8" to 1/4" thick is fine. Cut one sole foreach boot.

    5. Cut two heel pieces and two shafts for each boot. Cut oneof the heel pieces down a bit as shown. Then you can use the

cut off piece as an added decoration on the toe. Stitch aroundall parts if desired. (except the sole)

    6. Now, you can do this next part one of two ways. When Itook this picture, I took a paper towel roll and formed the twoshaft pieces around it, gluing them together with gumglue.Once you do that, trim the front shaft just a bit at the bottomand place on your sole. The shaft is placed at the back of thesole. You want to overlap the BACK bottom of the shaft andglue to the back lip of the sole. This is why you need a thicksole so you have something to glue this to. You trimmed thefront bottom of the front of the shaft because it needs to sit up

just a bit because the back part will glue to the back lip of thesole. Ok, since then, I made one like this. I took the papertowel holder and placed it on the back of the sole. Wrap theback part of the shaft around the paper holder, gluing thebottom part to the lip of the sole. Then trim a little off thebottom of the front part of the shaft and wrap it around thefront of the paper towel tube, gluing to the back portion of theshaft. Hope this makes sense. Once dry it will be study. Don't

worry about the toe part quite yet.

    7. Then take your firmed up toe part and glue that to the frontof the boot, putting glue along the edge of the sole andpressing it to adhere. You also can glue the edge of your toesection if you wish. If the toe doesn't want to hold it's shape, place a cotton ball inside the toe to help with that. You won'tsee the cotton ball once you place the toe piece on. Then takea back piece and place around the back of the boot.

    8. Cutout two of the strap pieces for each boot. Place thosefolded on the top side of each boot. Then take the heel piece

that you cut some off of, and place that on the toe for anaccent piece.

    9. I used the PME star plungers to make cute little stars that Iplaced on the side of each strap. I love this set, it makes such

pretty stars. Perfect of Christmas cakes as well. See here.

Once they are dry, they will be sturdy and you can pick themup. Here's the cake I did with them on:

made by Linda Pearcy. The cake took second place at the IcingOn The Cake Competetion in Shreveport. LA. This is what shesaid:

"Cover cakes in fondant and let it set up. Stack your cake .

Use a brush and apply either confectioners glue, piping gel orgumpaste glue to the sides and edges. Put your cake in a cakepan, box or something that about 2 or 3 inches wider than yourcake base. Take your hand and apply sanding sugar to all areaswith your hand. This does get messy and the pan or box helpsin this area and you will be able to save what sanding sugar isleft over. It took about 1.5 lbs. Let it set over night and thenadd decorations the next day." Linda used this stunningsnowflake set.

Don't forget the rainbow disco! One of my favorite things :-)Thanks for sharing this with us Linda.
