Our newscast appeals to our audience because they can:

Listen to the local news which is relevant to the young audience.

Call the helpline to receive advice and guidance about the issue that were raised in the news.

Interview live studio guest. We used a semi formal and conversational

tone when we presented our news cast. This was done because we wanted to relate and attract the younger audience.

Page 22: Sufia newscast presentation

The stories will have an impact on the audience because it is relevant to the youth as it may affect them in some way. We began with the important news first and ended with light hearted news.

Salma and I were the presenters in our news cast. We spoke in first person, so that we can make it more personal. We used sound code in our newscast. Music can be heard in the background. Silence was also used while reading out the serious stories.

constructing this product?

What is digital technology and analogue?

• Digital technology has allowed people to produce more. It is an easier way of accessing the media• Digital technology is now commonly used to transfer information through signals.• Analogue is an old fashion way of editing before the arrival of computer. • Digital technologies allowed us to record and edit our newscast faster and easier.

Page 25: Sufia newscast presentation

• Convergence is when two or more media are brought together.

• Produces a new medium which is more effective and useful.

• Example - You can now listen to the radio, play games, read news and watch film by using the internet or the mobile phone.

Technology is becoming more convergent?:

Page 26: Sufia newscast presentation

Radio is a parallel medium

• You can listen to the radio while carrying out other task whereas you have to watch and to listen to the television. This prevent you from carrying out other major task such as driving.

• Portability
