Where? West of Sudan

WHO?Janjaweed X Non-arab population

JANJAWEED: Militia group supported by the government

Non-Arab population: Black African population

WHY?In 2003 a rebel group attacked the Sudans government (Arabs) saying that they were oppressing black Africans in favour of Arabs.

2 mains rebel groups: Justice and Equality Movement and Sudan Liberation Movement

After those attacks the government initiated a retribution against that rebel groups and the non-Arab population.

The government act behind the Janjaweed. But, they deny any link to them.THE REAL REASONS Janjaweed are searching for water and lands to put their animals (food). But those lands belongs to black African people. SO Thats why they are killing that people. THE ATTACKSThe Janjaweed ride into villages on horses and camels , slaughtering men, raping and abusing sexuality women, burning villages and stealing whatever they can.The survivors flee to refugee camps near Darfurs main town and Chad.
