Quotation-Communication'Then you should say what you mean,' the March Hare went on.

'I do,' Alice hastily replied; 'at least—at least I mean what I say—that's the same thing, you know.' 'Not the same thing a bit!' said the Hatter.

'You might just as well say that "I see what I eat" is the same thing as "I eat what I see"!‘

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

Why is it Important?•Communication is central in the lives of humans and our engagement with each other

•Even more so when we live in a world where computer programs and systems are designed to ‘communicate’ and ‘respond’ in ways or contexts that put at risk quality communication…instant but how effective?

How does this relate to work at CSU?

What do we mean?

•Communication is a transaction between two or more people, with all participants having an active role in the process.

•One person transmits a message to another and must ensure that the message is delivered clearly.

•A recipient /listener takes delivery of the message and must be an attentive. Effective communication takes place only when the recipient clearly understands the message that the transmitter intended to send.

• How does this happen at CSU?
