SUBMITTED BY: Jackie Cruz, Executive Director, Institutional Advancement and Foundation BACKGROUND / SUMMARY The MC3I proposal is expected to expand the STEM pipeline through the development of new orexisting high school partnerships. HCCD has developed broad and strong collaborations with K12 partners. This proposal will build on those collaborations to further develop the STEMpipeline. This project will increase the number of underrepresented students who enter into andpersist in the STEM pipeline through partnerships and multifaceted student engagementstrategies. HCCD will develop and expand partnerships with NASA AMES and underservedfeeder high schools throughout the Salinas Valley to provide industry relevant curriculum andprofessional development for secondary teachers, make courses with NASArelated contentavailable, and increase institutional capacity for preparing underrepresented students in STEM.
