Subject Study- Adriana 9 years old 3rd grade (GT/Regular) Hispanic Primary language Spanish at home “Traditional Family” and Grandmother Both parents work, Grandmother watches children 1 younger sibling with difference No medicine Being tested of Dyslexia

Observation Period 1

Mrs. Johnson’s 3rd grade GT class– Incessant talking– Distracting other students– In and out of seat– Not following directions– Could not spell

– Classroom environment

Observation Period 2

Mr. Schweer’s 3rd grade regular class– Quiet– Followed directions when working alone– Did not follow directions when left to self or Mr.

Schweer– Was not as distracting– Left her seat often– Couldn’t focus on a specific task– Lisp – Classroom environment

Informal Testing

4 parts– Copy words (English and Spanish)– Spelling test- from memory– Sequencing– Draw-A-Man test
