Minutes of the meeting held on 31.08.2017 with the representatives ofMls National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) with regard to

procurement of uniform items for the block year 2016-18

A meeting was held on 31.09.2017 at 1000 hrs. in the Meeting Room of Member(HR) at C-Block, Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan wherein a presentation was given by the NIFT on thework carried out by NIFTtill now in terms with Job Contract placed on them.

Since other female committee members were not present, three female employeeswere also called for their participation in selection process of uniform material forfemale employees.

On behalf of NIFT Dr.Nayanika Thakur Mehta gave the presentation and at theoutset stated that the uniform represent the identity of the organization and the effect ofuniform remains for a longer time on outsiders. It was stated by NIFT that keeping in viewthe corporate identity of AAI and in order to have comfort, suitability to diverseenvironment, NIFT has designed / selected the colour /prlnt for uniform of employees ofAAI. While selecting the uniform for the employees of AAI following aspects have beentaken care:

Dr.Nayanika Thakur Mehta informed that at first they will show the colour / print ofthe saree on the screen and thereafter the colour and print of the gents uniform shall beshown as there has to be some uniformity in the colour / print of gents uniform and that offemale uniform.

Female Uniform

1 The colour and print of 3 designs in 3 colours of sarees were shown on the screenwhich were shortlisted by the NIFT.The colour / print of peach colour shown by theNIFT was preferred and finalized by the members present in the meeting includingother female officials called for the selection process. Dr.Nayanika Thakur Mehtaalso informed that it was intimated in the previous meetings that only one designand colour of sarees shall be made available to female employees instead of threedifferent colours and print followed earlier. The sarees shall be in Silk, Crepe Silk andPolyester/Synthetic.

2 Dr.Nayanika Thakur Mehta and her team also discussed about the pattern of blouse,cardigan, trouser & shirt with the female employees present in the meeting forconsensus opinion in this regard. It was also stated by Dr.Nayanika Thakur Mehtathat the colour as well as blend composition of shirting cloth, pant cloth, cardigan &blazer for female employees shall be same as selected for the male employes.

3 No design for salwar kammez has been finalized as the same is not to be issued tothe female employees. The committee opined to dispense with Salwar Suit and toissue 3 Nos. Crepe Silk Sarees instead of 2 Nos. issued earlier to female employees.

4 Dr.Nayanika Thakur Mehta also stated that the female employees who opts for maleuniform may also be provided with 2 Nos. scarves for elegant look. The colour anddesign of the scarves shall match with the colour and design of saree & tie.

5 One of the female employee present in the meeting raised the issue that so far thereis no provision for female employee to opt for partially male uniform and partiallyfemale uniform which may be looked into.

Gents Uniform

1. Dr.Nayanika Thakur Mehta informed that with regard to the shade i1nd colour forshirting cloth for male employees, selection can be made from striped design, plaincolour in white or chambray blue which has been shortlisted by NIFT. The committeemembers unanimously agreed that chambray blue for shirting cloth shall be suitablefor shirting cloth for male employees.

2. Dr.Nayanika Thakur Mehta displayed the chambray blue shirting cloth in the screenand also stated that with the chambray blue shirting cloth, the pant cloth, suitingcloth & woollen jersey being considered should be in Navy blue colour.

3. With regard to the specification of shirting cloth, trouser, suit and for woolen Jerseyit was intimated that NIFTshall be finalizing the blend composition soon.

4. With the selection of the chambray blue for shirting cloth and navy blue colour fortrouser for male employees it was stated by NIFT that the chambray blue shall alsosuit the requirement of female employees for shirting cloth and navy blue colour fortrouser, blazer & cardigan.

5. The pattern for shirt, pant, suit were also shown by NIFT and opinion of committeewas also noted by them.

6. The committee members also stated that the length of shirting cloth (2.25 mtrs.),pant cloth(1.20 mtrs.} & suit cloth (2.85 mtrs.) issued in the past is less even for anaverage height / built of a person and is not found adequate for standard tailoring.The representative of NIFT assured ·that they shall be looking in to this aspect ofmeasurement of length & the same shall be included in their recommendation /report.

7. It was also unanimously agreed by the committee member that 1 Nos. half sleeveswoolen jersey for male employees shall also be provided in addition of lNo. fullsleeve jersey.

Representatives of NIFT assured that they shall be providing the final samples offabric having colour and design shortlisted by AAI shortly.
