Pleasant ways to make learning easy.

Science and Technology are closely related with innovation and invention. Nehrusciencecentre provides such a platform for science lovers to actually visualise the concepts, rather than imaging. We all know that things learnt by doing and seeing last for a longer period of time. At STV too, we practice innovative learning for our students. Our teachers are upgraded from time to time to enhance their teaching skills. In the month of July, 2018 our science teachers attended a workshop organized by 'Nehru Science Centre.' It was truly a learning session. Many dificult concepts were explained through experiments. Our teachers believe that 'Knowledge grows when shared'. Thus, our highly generous teachers PriyaSinghand RatikaRodrigues too organized a seminar to enlighten our little buddies and share their experiences. Several experimental like 1) Rocket Balloon 2) Rain cloud in a bottle 3) CO IS Heavier than Air 4) A miniature Volcano 2

5) Hair – Raising Science – Static electricity 6) A Tornado in a Bottle 7) Walking Water Rainbow 8) Lava lamp 9) Bouncing Egg 10) Magical colour change 11) Colour Density Tower 12) Drinking Candle 13) Colour Changing Milk with Soap and Colours 14) Trafic Light Eggs 15) Balloon Powered Car were conducted. Dificult concepts like friction, Kinetic-energy, Magnetic energy were imparted playfully. It was learning with fun. We will surely try to make such kind of productive activities a regular part of our day to day teaching.

-Mrs.PriyaSingh

Innovative learning…. The need of the hour.

= Field trips expand children's learning process through active hands-on experience with the rich resources of the local community. Field trips increase students' knowledge and understanding of a subject and add realism to the topic of study. Students of class I and II had an opportunity to visit

sta farm house at Bhai Mama chi wadi Rajodi on 21 Jan 2019. Observing different vegetables growing at the farmhouse was a learning experience. It was exciting for the little ones to see some vegetables grow above the earth and some of them underground. The students saw caulilower, cabbage, brinjal, bottle gourd etc. Teachers gave message that we should not waste food and respect our farmers. The teachers and students returned to the school with happy memories to treasure forever.

-Mr.JacksonDabre= For classes III to V a ield trip was organized at Swami Parijnanashram Educational and Vocational Centre for the Handicapped. SPEVC is a unique institution catering to the varied needs of children and adults having all kinds of disabilities under one roof.It was a special experience visiting the Educational and Vocational centre and meeting children who teach you the acceptance of life conditions with the way they smile and play. Those children learned that in the face of a challenge, they can still ind happiness and enjoy their lives. To make them independent and self-reliant in life as possible in the given circumstances and to reduce the burden of the parents with children with disabilities. Vocational training is provided for those who are above 18 years of age in ile and envelope making, candle and chalk-making, printing, book-binding, screen printing and weaving. The proits received are distributed among the students. You actually leave with more than what you might have donated. What a great experience!

Science – ExhibitionOur future Inventors....

Science is the subject of observation and experimentation. Our students truly believe in the fact that “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn ”. We at STV too believe in involving our students in each and every concept that they learn. Science – exhibition is one such curricular activity in the academic session that encourage s t u d e n t s t o p re s e n t t h e i r i d e a s , knowledge in the form of 'Exhibits'. Just like a brilliant painter putforth his observation skills in the form of a realistic painting similarly, our little science lovers too presented their knowledge creatively. Our science teachers too try to include new and innovative topics every year, to retain interest and acquire knowledge about different concepts.

Our President honourable ShriVikasVartak truly believes that innovative ideas of our youth should be encouraged and appreciated. Sir, along with our management members Mr.AbhayMhatreand Mr.RavindraRaulpersonally visited the science – exhibition to encourage and guide our students. Deinitely, Our STVians will represent themselves as great inventors in the future as they are moulded and nurtured with great love and care.

Learning By Questioning

A good question challenges and stimulates the students to think deeper and to apply the concepts learnt. A question which is framed correctly, can help the teacher to understand the thought process of the students, while solving a problem. Designing a good question is both an art and a science. A good question helps to expand their horizon, their knowledge and their curiousness.

In our school, we the teachers, always encourage our students to ask questions relevant to the subject we are teaching or any other question relevant to any topic of general interest. We believe that learning by asking questions and providing answers is an excellent method of assimilating knowledge than by just dictating notes. We encourage our students to ask questions on any subject that has relevance to their academic subject or just to enhance their general knowledge.
