PROGRAM DATE: May 28 – June 5 on campus; June 6-27 in country; July 1-2 on campus

PROGRAM SITE: Seoul, South Korea

COURSES: Psychology of Death and Dying (PSYT 1325)

ACADEMIC INFORMATION: Students are required to take one course and will receive three hours of credit upon successful completion of the program.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS:

2.0 GPA and 12 cumulative academic credits. Alamo Colleges District expects study abroad participants to perform academically at standards commensurate with on-campus performance. This includes attending classes, taking exams, reading required materials, completing homework, etc. If students' GPA drops below a 2.0 before they study abroad, they will not be allowed to participate in the program.

FACULTY LEADER: José Luis Moreno, Ph. D. is Associate Professor at San Antonio College. He has taught at SAC Mortuary Science Department for the past 11 years. He holds a doctoral degree in Adult, Professional and Community Education. Dr. Moreno is currently licensed as a funeral director/embalmer and as a professional counselor. As a visiting professor, Dr. Moreno has conducted educational and training seminars on loss and bereavement in Mexico, Peru, South Korea, and Hong Kong. Professor Moreno has traveled to Korea on several occasions for the past 11 years working with Eulji University in different areas of death care education. Dr. Moreno has led the South Korea Study Abroad in the summer of 2016 and 2017. Dr. Moreno will be the lead faculty for Psychology of Death and Dying (PSYT 1325). Contact: [email protected]
