Six credits earned for 263 hours or 12 credits earned for 525 hours.

Academic credit for internships is transferable through SUNY Alfred, accredited by Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

Paired with 1-3 other academic courses including Italian language (all levels available).

Internship Placement

InternshipsInternshipsEarn academic credit with an internship in Sorrento, Italy.

Sant’Anna Institute (formerly Sorrento Lingue) will assist study abroad students with placement in Sorrento, Italy. Internship opportunities are possible in many areas including but not limited to:

• Management, Marketing, Production (Education Institute, Limoncello/Buffalo Mozzarella Manufacturing, Personal Fitness Organizations)

• Tourism (Tour Operators, Travel Agencies, Hotels)

• Culinary (Restaurants and Bakeries)

• Architecture (Private Firms)

Alfred State program coordinators will work with Sant’Anna and interested students to find the appropriate placement.

Estimate of CostsStudying abroad in Sorrento, Italy, is a once-in-a-life time experience with the potential to benefit participants in myriad ways. For example, employers are increasingly interested in students who have international experience. Although the benefits can be numerous, Alfred State officials realize finances are an important consideration in all aspects of the education experience. So to provide as much information as possible, cost information for students enrolled at Alfred State is outlined at www.alfredstate.edu/study-abroad/semester-in-italy.

Sant’Anna Institute Fees: $9,500*Includes all courses taught by SASL, materials for courses taught by SASL, housing, orientation to community and institute, course related excursions, arrival transfer from Naples airport, free wireless Internet at SASL, 24-hour SASL assistance, and a 24/7 emergency contact.

Expected additional costs: airfare, passport, meals, personal items, personal travel, etc.*Costs based on 2011-12 and are subject to change.
