d23Emily Laue, USA

“I’d enjoyed visiting England a few years ago andso wanted to return and spend a longer periodof time here. I really like the fact that Edge Hillis located in a small town rather than a big city, where I would just feel overwhelmed.

Coming over here has improved and changedmy life for the better. It is very difficult to leavehome and find yourself in a completely newenvironment, but finding activities of interestand trying out new things is a sure way toalleviate any problems.

The staff here have helped me to settle in, andthe international office especially have gone toa lot of trouble.

There are a lot of minor differences betweenEdge Hill and universities in the USA and, although none of them are anything major, Ihave felt stressed at times. This is where goodsupport is vital and really does help you getthrough any little setbacks.

I really want to concentrate now on putting inthe work I need to do well. Once I graduate Ithink I’d like to go and do an internshipsomewhere and then possibly some moretravelling.”
