China's 4,000-year old dynastic system ended in 1911 and since then has undergone profound transformation. Join the College of IS&T to experience Anubhav 2018- an immersion into North Indian culture in May. The experience will include academic workshops at IS&T partner Bennet University, located an hour outside India’s capital city, New Delhi. NICARAGUAAthletic Training & Public Health

For Spring Break 2018, the School of Health and Kinesiology will offer a study abroad program in Nicaragua, with a multi-disciplinary focus including Athletic Training and Public Health. This program will provide multiple learning opportunities for University of Nebraska students at the Universidad Americana - UAM: Managua. Students will have the opportunity to engage with local sports coaches and their student-athletes throughout this 10-day experiential learning experience. Students will interact closely with students from UAM in an environment designed to promote skill transfer and cross-cultural learning.This project will revolve around the central idea that sports are the common language which brings us together. Students will provide didactic and laboratory instruction to Nicaraguan sports coaches and their student-athletes, learn local culture and customs, and participate in weekend excursions in which they will experience Nicaragua outside of the capital city.

NICARAGUASpanish Language & Public Health

Join students from UNK, UNMC, UNO and UNL on thisUniversity of Nebraska study abroad program in Nicaragua summer 2018! This interdisciplinary course and study abroad experience will allow you to both develop Spanish language skills and explore public health in the Nicaraguan context. This dual-site trip will begin by providing you with two weeks of level-specific language instruction at the Centro de Idiomas at UNAN-León. During your time in this beautiful, colonial city, you will also participate in afternoon cultural activities and public health discussions. Enjoy a weekend excursion to explore the city of Granada, Lake Nicaragua and Masaya Volcano. After two weeks of language preparation, you’ll travel to Estelí, a tranquil city in Nicaragua’s northern highlands. En route, you will swim and relax at the scenic Laguna de Apoyo, a volcanic crater lake. Finally, in Estelí you’ll join Aspire Global Health, a U.S.-based global non-profit organization, to implement a public health project in the rural areas surrounding Estelí.

How much do you know about bilingualism? Would you like to know more? Have you ever considered learning Quechua? Is visiting Ma hu Picchu a dream of yours? Then this six-week undergraduate/graduate summer course is perfect for you! It introduces participants to the study of bilingualism and bilingual education in the US and Peru. The course begins with an online classroom component that provides a background in bilingualism and bilingual education, and continues in Peru. Students will have an opportunity to visit bilingual classrooms in Omaha and Peru, take classes in Quechua, and explore exciting locations such as Ma hu Picchu, and historic Cu co. Though Spanish proficiency is helpful, it is not a requirement for the course.

QUEBECFrench Language & Culture

Improve your French skills, participate in extra-curricular activities such as sports and music, and earn UNO credits during a five-week immersion program at Laval University in Quebec City. The city itself, founded in 1608 by Champlain, has a great deal to offer both culturally and historically. Enjoy the "festival d'été" in July and the "Fêtes de la Nouvelle France" in August, when hundreds of French musicians give free concerts throughout the city. During this five week intensive language program, students will learn about Quebec civilization, cinema, literature and more. Students have opportunities to speak French on a daily basis in conversation tables, participate in festivals, and many more cultural activities!

RWANDARural Public Health

Join a unique collaborative opportunity for UNO students, UNMC students, and Rwandan medical students to create an e-Learning module and observe clinical and community healthcare delivery in rural Rwanda. This program is offered by UNMC’s International Health and Medical Education, UNO’s School of Health and Kinesiology, and University of Gitwe in Rwanda, May - June 2018. As part of this program, UNO/UNMC students will spend two weeks working with medical students in Gitwe, a rural community located a scenic 3-hour drive from Kigali, capital of Rwanda. While in-country, students will also learn about infectious and non-communicable diseases and cultivate their inter-cultural awareness, cultural humility, and professionalism. *Enrollment is limited to 6 UNO students.

For over thirty five years, the Criminal Justice in Londonprogram has been introducing University of Nebraska at Omaha and University of Nebraska Lincoln students to the criminal justice system in the United Kingdom.
