for Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA) online:

2) Complete the applica�on for
your study abroad program.
3) Apply for addi�onal study
abroad scholarships!
4) View your revised financial
aid award on AccessPlus.
Your financial aid award will
be automa�cally adjusted to
reflect the costs of your
program. You will receive an
email once this process is
complete.

Study Abroad Scholarships
Scholarships are available to help pay for
your study abroad experience. Please visit the
Study Abroad Center website for more infor-
ma�on about scholarship opportuni�es!

Exceptions May Apply
1) Students must receive academic credit for
their study abroad program and must trans-
fer those credits back to Iowa State
University to receive financial aid.
2) Financial aid awarded to you during a
regular semester at Iowa State University
may be used for a study abroad program,
with the excep�on of Work-Study and
some merit-based scholarships. Please
confirm your eligibility for merit-based
awards with your scholarship provider.
Helpful Tips Before You Go
Direct Deposit on AccessPlus Financial aid you authorized on
AccessPlus is applied to your U-bill.
Designa�ng a direct deposit account
allows us to deposit any excess funds
into the bank account of your choice.
ATM/Debit Card Inform your bank that you will be
studying abroad and confirm your
ATM/Debit card can be used in that
country.
Email Account Con�nue to check your ISU email while
studying abroad.
