of undergraduate study: 300 level paper (15

• 15 hours/week: 180 hours total

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
Science Capstone Research Project
• SCIEN 301 (15 points)
• Open to 3rd year students and higher
• Interdisciplinary team research project on an assigned
topic – varies each term
• Hone communication, fieldwork, research and project
management skills
• Past projects include:
➢ Partnership with local iwi in managing marine
environments and restoration of shellfish
➢ Monitoring Hamilton bat boxes
➢ Ecological and water quality impacts of
restored estuary flow
TRIMESTER STUDY ABROAD• Choose 1 or 2 trimesters of study
• A: February – June
• B: July – November
• C: November – February
• All areas of study open to study abroad students
• Guaranteed on-campus accommodation
• 15 Waikato points = 3-4 US credits or 7.5 ECTS
• Full time enrolment: 4 papers (60 points)
• Fees:
• Study: $12,875 NZ (~$8,700 US)
• Study + Intern: $14,250 NZ (~$9,600 US)
• Fees include tuition, student fees, airport pickup &
official transcript and internship placement if
student does the Study + Intern programmes.
