At Studio ARTES we operates under the NSW Disability Service Standards, which are similar to the National Standards for Disability Services. These standards mean that we are always putting the person (you) at the centre of the way we deliver services. The standards are; 1. Service Access – information being readily available so each person knows how

to access services and is treated fairly by service providers.

2. Individual Outcomes – person-centred approaches providing information and support for each person to exercise choice and control over the design and delivery of their services.

3. Participation – people with a disability being valued members of their

community through active & meaningful participation.

4. Feedback and Complaints – each person can expect a complaint to be dealt with, have support and the opportunity to participate in the complaints process.

5. Service Management – each person receives well-managed quality services

that are efficiently governed.

6. Rights – people with a disability receiving services that promote their legal & human rights, and enable them to exercise choice like everyone else in the community.

Rights and Responsibilities As a member of Studio ARTES you

have rights and you should be treated

in a way that respects your decisions.

You have the same rights as everyone

else, this is the law. These rights also

carry responsibility on your part so

that Studio ARTES can be a positive environment, a place where all

members can participate and learn, a place that flows smoothly and a

place where the rights of others are protected and valued.

Rights mean that you can make decisions about what you want, what you

don’t want, what you do, or if you’ve changed your mind about

something. The rights listed below are not only relevant at Studio ARTES

but in all of your life.

Your rights as a member of Studio ARTES include:

Responsibilities are about what is expected of you when you attend

Studio ARTES.

Your responsibilities as a member of Studio ARTES include:

• To attend Studio ARTES for your agreed sessions & days, and notify

Studio ARTES if you are not attending

Giving us feedback or making a complaint What to do if you are not happy? Studio ARTES welcomes feedback that is

both positive and negative, as well as

complaints about our service. You should

never feel worried about giving negative

feedback or a complaint. We use this

information to improve the way we work

and deliver services to our members.

You can give feedback or make a complaint in a number of ways. You can do it

online via our website, or by talking to someone here at Studio ARTES.

When you give feedback or make a complaint, we will ask you some basic

information about what it is about. This information you give we will use to have a

discussion with you about how we will use the information, and put it on a register

so we have a record and see if there are patterns to what we do.

When you make a complaint, we will ask you

some more details about your complaint and

ask you what you want to be the result of

your complaint, and then we will write back

to you or make a meeting with you to discuss

it further.

If you are not satisfied that your complaint

has been dealt with properly you have every

right to take the matter to an external body by contacting the NSW Ombudsman

02 9286 1000, www.omobo.nsw.gov.au, email: [email protected]

Studio ARTES and the NDIS

Rates for attending Studio ARTES depend on your support needs. This

will be discussed before you start at Studio ARTES.

The hourly rate reflects the pricing of the NDIS and is for the supports

provided. As well as this rate, Studio ARTES charges an activity fee that

assists us to purchase the materials we buy and use on programs. This

fee is $5 per session (+GST). This will be invoiced to you separately, and

can be paid fortnightly, per term or yearly. This fee can’t be taken out of

the NDIS plan unless there is written permission from the NDIS for you to

do this. However as a general rule the NDIS does not allow this.

If you have an NDIS plan, you can agree to use your funds in the plan to

pay for Studio ARTES hourly rate. You will need to sign a schedule of

supports, which outlines the activities you will be charged for in more

detail. If you decide to increase, decrease or change your sessions, we will

do another schedule. The rules concerning charges under the NDIS plan

are outlined in the service agreement.

Please talk to us to understand your payments whichever method you

decide to use, and we can set up a payment schedule for you if you need

to take more time to pay.

Additional Services

Support Coordination and Plan Management

If you require support coordination and/or plan management services

from Studio ARTES, we will set up a separate service agreement for this,

and this will be managed separately from your normal services you

receive from Studio ARTES.

When doing support coordination and plan management, we will adhere

to the requirements of the NDIA that we ensure that you always know

that other services are available to you apart from Studio ARTES. WE

have a policy that outlines this and will discuss this with you when you

sign up for those services.
