Computer EngineeringStudy concept

The engineering degree programme in Com-puter Engineering is conducted in English and lasts three and a half year. It is a field of study that grows rapidly and dynamically creating new challenges and opportunities for progress. Most of the present occupations require the basic command of computer knowledge. One in four new workplaces in the European Union are created in the field of telecommunication, the Internet, information technology and com-puter science.

The Computer Engineering course embraces knowledge and expertise as well as shaping practical skills in the area of computer programmes and systems. The programme of Com-puter Engineering is designed so that students can gain skills in the field of construction and operation of the components of information systems according to market require-ments, the administration of a medium-sized systems, the creation and management of web services and the management of information technology projects. Classes of CE are carried out according to the teaching programme that has been prepared in close coop-eration with leading IT companies. It should be emphasized that all classes are taught by professionals with extensive practical experience and based on the illustrative methods of lecture and laboratory classes using modern hardware and software.

Laboratory classes are held in small groups. During the classes in the computer labs, each student has at its disposal a separate computer. Students are using labs equipped with the latest specialized computers’ tailored to write their thesis.

Career prospectsA graduate of Computer Engineering course has been provided with the skills of effective independent work and team work in the field of web services, graphic designs in advertis-ing agencies and companies. The graduate will have learnt to create applications necessary for further work, designing computer networks, programming, systems administration, and IT project management. The young computer engineer will be employed not only in specialized companies engaged in the generation, protection, implementation and mainte-nance of information systems, but also in the various sectors of the economy – industry, business, government, IT services, as well as research and educational institutions. The graduate may find employment as a designer and software developer, a researcher, an administrator of complex information systems and computer networks, a specialist in in-formation systems security or might take on other positions related to the computerization of business or office.

The course of Computer Engineering conducted at Radom Academy of Economics has been positively assessed by the Polish Accreditation Committee, the only body that is entitled to assess the quality of provided education – Resolution No. 36/2008 PPKA of 31 January 2008 and also Resolution No. 4682017 PPKA of 21 September 2017.

Radom Academy of Economics provides students with multiple trainings opportu-nities as part of which they can obtain the following IT certificates acknowledged worldwide:

• European Computer Driving License- ECDL (Advanced, CAD),• Certified Installer of 3M Structural Networks,• Certified Web Designer of 3M Structural Networks,• Training on Inventor Programming (intermediate level).

RAE runs only in the region local Cisco Center!Students are prepared to obtain a professional certificate in the fields of IT Essentials, CCNA Discovery, CCNA Exploration, CCNA Security. Gained knowledge proved with a certif-icate is a passport to success in the modern environment of the Internet economy!

MANAGEMENTStudy conceptThe fundamental goal of the course is to train and promote the qualified managerial staff for the needs of business, administration, and various social sectors. The students will have acquired essential knowledge and skills needed to recognize, diagnose, and solve problems with running various businesses on the job market. They will also have learnt how to use rare human, physical, and financial resources successfully. Moreover, the students will have been acquainted with social, legal, and economic issues. The course particularly draws attention to the problems of running an individual enterprise. Thanks to that, graduates will have learnt how to run an own company, develop creativity and be open to changes. Another decisive factor in achieving success on the job market is instilling in students ef-fective skills of managing the communication sector with a particular focus put on public relations activities that help to improve an image of the company. The course embraces such modules as Organizational Behavior, Public Relations in Organization, Public Relations Materials and Texts, Consumer Relationship Management, Company Marketing Communi-cation System. The course exposes students to a wide range of tutorials, workshops, and seminars, thanks to which students will have opportunities to solve problems individually, cooperate with each other, use different sources of information, combine and shape exist-ing knowledge, organize and evaluate own and other’s work, prepare business projects, give presentations and provide written assignments connected with specific issues, engage in new challenges as well as do different jobs.

Career prospectsThe course prepares to realize essential management functions in enterprises of different ownership types and different organizational and legal forms, public administration sectors (both governmental and self-governmental), non-profit organizations, institutions of the European Union and national security organizations. The course also prepares students to start an own business. The graduates will be able to run a family business, design and implement innovative organizational arrangements, work as specialists and managers in the different fields of management. Moreover, the graduates can apply for Master courses in Management or related fields.

Our offer is targeted at those who wants to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge while working with large compa-nies and thus add something special to a CV. This offer provides a chance to stay in an international environment, gain valuable experience and become familiar with a new culture. Students who complete the training or study period will receive an official cer-tificate issued by an organisation for which they worked or by partner university. Radom Academy of Economics has run the International Programme since 2007. The pro-gramme and the interdisciplinary English path which was created within it enable the students from the partner universities within Erasmus+ to study at RAE but also for our student who can choose subjects conducted in English. The main aim of the English path at RAE is to help students gain knowledge and skills needed to move freely on the inter-national market level.

Concept:The curriculum of the English path was prepared in order to provide students with the necessary knowledge and practical skills in decision-making in diverse conditions of the international market environment. The path realised in this scope is extremely valuable and useful for students because of its interdisciplinary and multi-dimensional approach to analysis of contemporary problems of businesses and economic environment.

Currently, many foreign companies and state institutions are in need for specialists in in-ternational business that is why, Radom Academy of Economics places an emphasis on the close integration of theoretical and practical knowledge as well as preparation for profes-sional work gained during workshops.

Objectives:The English Path „International Business in Global Economy” is primarily aimed at provid-ing the students with knowledge and skills needed in doing business internationally and prepare them to work in companies operating in the EU and global economic space. In ad-dition, by taking part in the programme students can acquire knowledge of cultural differ-ences, international relations which enables them to understand the issues of the modern world better, analyze the environment and notice the interconnections among economic units. The programme helps them to learn rules for running businesses, ensuring effective-ness of the market as well as creating and implementing business plans. Students will find out about the functioning of the global and European market, including competition rules, procedures related to the movement of goods across borders. They will also learn how to carry out analyses and evaluate the situation on international markets.

Concept:The programme will enable students to gain knowledge on international processes during which the individual countries form joint mechanisms and institutions equipped with the powers that were previously in the competence of the state. Integration of the European Union embodies the vision of humanity and a model of society with a special attitude to the rich heritage of values. Members of the European Union as a whole, rather than the sum of components, take the challenge of globalization to have a better impact on economic, social, technological, commercial, political and legal issues. Students will acquire a thor-ough knowledge of European integration with a focus on social and legal aspects of such a phenomenon as the European Union.

Objectives:The aim of the programme is to introduce students to the sources of, nature and dynamics of basic legal, social and partially cultural processes related to the European integration. Students will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and assess the European integration in terms of positive and negative legal and social aspects. Our goal is to enable students to gain a general understanding of interdisciplinary social science and to use it at work and in life with the principles of ethics. The main purpose is to enable students to analyze social and political processes taking place in the global, regional, state and local scale, as well as get acquainted with the economic and legal principles underlying the organization and functioning of modern societies. The student should know the history of Europe, the conditions for its integration, as well as the genesis of laws and principles operating in the European Union.

ACCOMMODATIONRadom Academy of Economics provides its students the accommodation. The biggest student dormitory which can accommodate 150 students is situated 8 km from the city center, 15 minutes by bus from both campuses of RAE, close to places of everyday use e.g., shops, gro-ceries, supermarkets, shopping centers and numerous places of recreation and entertainment. The students can live in a quiet, safe and cozy environment and can choose single, double or triple rooms with bathrooms. The kitchenette is common. For student disposal is also relax area with grill and volleyball court.

Other accommodation hostels are located in the direct neigbourhood of Traugutta Campus.

The hostels offer 1, 2 and 3 bed rooms with bathrooms, common with others- self-service kitchen and dining room in the complex. The hotel is disabled people friendly.

Deposit is required, monthly payment include all media, wi-fi and electricity bills.
