Garbage MUST be sorted

• PMD : Plastic Bottles-‐Metal-‐Drinking cartons BLUE BAGS

• GFT : Vegetable, Fruit and Garden garbage GREEN BAGS

• KGA : Small dangerous waste & Porcelain à bring to the WAAG

• Glass : bring to special containers (parking at house 7 & Alma 3)

• Paper & cardboard : collect per unit

• Brown bags : everything else (Not sure? Brown bag!)

If waste is not put in the right bag, a fine of 250 euros can be imposed.

Some rules!


No smoking inside any buildings

•  Smoking is forbidden in all buildings of KU Leuven

• Tampering with fire detectors is not allowed!

•  Ash trays are available outside of each block •  against the wall, near the entrance


House rules

•  Every residence hall has its internal rules •  read your contract!

•  English version available in your kitchen. Please read this carefully!

•  No parties/BBQs/… without the approval of your resident advisor!

•  Only allowed in the kitchen

•  Use a pan with a bit of oil or butter

à  The cooking rings are not designed to work on directly

Doing the dishes

•  Use only a little bit of dishwashing liquid

•  Don’t use streaming water, but fill the sink


Sleeping & Bathroom

Sleeping

• Putting the blankets on the floor, makes them dirty very soon. So, the blankets are meant to sleep with in the bed in your room.

Toilet / Shower:


Habits

•  Follow the city regulations! •  Driving without bicycle lights, or through red light: € 150

•  Complain politely when something is wrong •  Always try to complain yourself first!


Religion

• Your religion is between you and God(s): practise your beliefs without disturbing others.

•  Accept that other people might disagree with you!

•  You should have respect for all humans, regardless of their gender, religion, race of sexual orientation!

•  During working hours à Go to De Waag •  Outside working hours à 1.  first try to contact your resident advisor 2.  call the resident advisor on call


Situation 2: no electricity

•  Same instructions apply!

•  Always call: food in fridges may spoil!


Situation 3: fire alarm

•  Leave the building within 5 minutes! •  Close your door

•  Call 2222

•  Only re-‐enter if permission is given
