St. John’s School, Anchal was founded in 1984 by His Grace Most. Rev. Dr.Benedict Mar Gregorios, the late Archbishop of Trivandrum and is dedicated to its Heavenly Patron St. John, the beloved disciple of Jesus Christ. School Leaving Certificate (T. C) will be issued only to those students who have settled all their dues in the school. Application for T.C should be made in the prescribed form available in the school office and T.C can be collected after 3 working days.

ADMISSION REGULATIONS1. Admission to Lower K.G. Class is to be made in December every year as per the
Principal’s circular.2. Eligibility for admission to LKG class is 4 years as on the 31st May.3. New admission to other classes will be made subject to the vacancies in each class,
in the month of March / May after the announcement of the annual results. However applications can be submitted in the first/second week of February.
Every new pupil must bring:a. Transfer Certificate, if the pupil comes from a recognized school.b. The original Panchayat/Municipal Birth Certificate.c. Pupils applying for admission are, as a rule, subject to an entrance examination held
at a notified date.d. New admissions to Standards X, XII are as a rule, not encouraged.e. Admission to Standard XI is made as soon as the CBSE results of class X are published.
Procedure for Withdrawal or Removal from The School A student can be withdrawn from the school: a. By giving one calender month’s notice in writing. In the absence of such a notice
one month’s fee will be charged. b. Students can be removed from the school on any one of the following grounds: i. Constant weakness in studies. ii. Irregularity in attendance. iii. Behavioural problems. iv. Over age in class. v. Non-payment of fee or chronic irregularity in payment of fee. vi. Moral breach.

GOLDEN RULE : Every student shall wear school uniform on all working days including Sat-urdays and during special classes. Full school uniform is compulsory for all the occasions. Those who take part in sports and games must wear sports uniform.

RULES OF PAYMENT OF FEES
1. The fee shall be paid in lump sum in the first quarter itself or in five equal instalments
1st Instalment : June, July
2nd Instalment : August, September
3rd Instalment : October, November
4th Instalment : December, January
5th Instalment : February, March
First instalment of fees shall be remitted before receiving the text book. All other instalments should be remitted before the 5th of the first month.
2. These dates will be strictly observed and if the payment is not made in time, a fine of ` 100/- per instalment is charged after the due date.
3. If the fee is not paid for two months after the due date, the pupil’s name will automatically be struck off the rolls. Re-admission fee of ` 500/- will be charged along with the fee not paid by the student, if she/he is to be re-admitted to the school.
4. PARENTS AND GUARDIANS WILL KINDLY PRESERVE THE RECEIPTS ISSUED TO THEM AND PRODUCE THEM AS PROOF OF PAYMENT OF FEE, IF NEEDED.
5. Caution deposit must be withdrawn within three months after leaving the school, failing which the money will be transferred to the development fund of the school.
6. No refund of caution deposit shall be made unless the original receipt, there of is surrendered.
7. The cashier is the only school authority authorised to collect any fee from the students.

LEAVE RULES
1. A student returning to school after recovering from contagious or infectious disease, should produce a doctor’s certificate of fitness permitting him/her to attend the class. On failure to produce such a certificate, the school authorities are entitled to send the student back.
2. All students are expected to attend school on the re-opening day, after each vacation. Those who are absent due to illness should present a medical certificate before they are admitted to the class. In case a student remains absent from school for more than 15 days his/her name will be struck off the rolls. Re admission, if granted, may be done on payment of a Re-admission fee of ` 100/-
3. Parents are requested not to ask their children to leave the school before the classes are over, except in case of great necessity, in which case prior permission should be obtained in writing from the principal.
4. It may please be noted that children will not be sent home in an emergency with any person other than the parent/guardian during school hours without a written request from the parent or guardian.
5. Students who are coming late, after the stipulated time, shall be allowed to attend the class only with the prior sanction of the competent authority. But they shall not be given attendance.
6. Record of absence should be filled in by the parent when the pupil arrives the class.

SCHOOL LIBRARyStrict order and silence shall be observed in the library and reading room. Books issued are to be properly taken care of and returned on the due date.
1. All students of the school are members of the library.2. A student can borrow only one book at a time.3. A student may ordinarily have a copy of a book for a week, and may have it reissued for
another week, No book that is in great demand shall be lent for more than four days at a stretch.
4. Books will be issued to students during the library periods mentioned, in the Time Table and also before and after school hours. No books will be issued or received during the teaching hours.
5. Reference books will not be issued. Every member will be allowed to consult reference books during the school hour only.
6. The librarian may recall a book at any time, even if the normal period of loan has not been expired.
7. If the date of issue/return of book happens to be a holiday, both the issue/return of books shall stand postponed to the corresponding day of the following week.
8. If the book is not returned at the expiry of the period of loan, or after the librarian has called for it, even within the period of loan, a fine of ` 5/- per day will be charged. Fine shall be collected by the Librarian and the fact notified in the defaulter’s card.
9. Until such a fine is collected from the defaulter, no book shall be issued to him/her.
10. Absence is not an excuse for the delay in returning the book after the expiry of the period of loan.
11. In case a book is misused, wrongly handled, damaged or lost, the person concerned will have to pay the full price of the book at the current market price.
12. All markings, underlining writings, or defacing of books by any means are strictly forbidden. Fines shall be levied for violating this rule.
13. Members shall carefully examine the book as soon as it is issued to them. Any mark (Soil, damage etc.) must be reported forthwith to the Librarian.
14. Members shall not, on any account, pass on books to non-members.
15. A student will not be allowed to enter the library with his/her personal books or bags. One can carry notebooks, with the permission of the Librarian.
16. No magazines or periodicals will be issued to the students during the school hours.
17. All books will have to be returned before Feb 15, every year.

COUNSELLING Learning is possible only in a tension and fear free atmosphere. A counselling centre is functioning in St. John’s to reduce the tension and fear of students. The Health Wellness Teacher is in charge of the counselling centre and students and parents can avail of the services of the counsellor when ever it is necessary.
CONVEyANCE
The students can make use of the school buses for their conveyance. The route and other details can be known from the office. Boarding pass must be shown at the time of boarding the buses. Strict discipline should be maintained by the students inside the school buses because it reflects the total discipline of the school. Those without the boarding pass and defaulters of conveyance fees are strictly prohibited from using the conveyance facility. Parents/Guardians or others are not permitted to use the school buses. Students/Guardians are required to be present at the boarding point 10 minutes before departure and arrival of the bus. Bus fee shall be paid in four equal instalments along with the tuition fee.
Using hired vehicle is discouraged. But those students who use hired vehicles for their conveyance, other than the school buses, shall report the same to school office, including the name, registration number etc. of the hired vehicles. However the school takes no responsibility in this regard.
Change in the use of school conveyance must be reported in the office and the journey card should be returned before the change is effected.

GENERAL RULES OF CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE
Whenever individuals live together, discipline is necessary and, this is especially true of an educational institution. This discipline is formative, not repressive; it helps the student to develop self - control, which is the essence for a well-ordered and successful life. Therefore, the school requires of its students to conform to certain regulations aimed at the growth of the entire school and more so for the individual student.1. It is compulsory for all the students to SPEAK IN ENGLISH within the school campus.2. Students are expected to COMPLy strictly with the instructions relating to the LANGUAGE
SKILLS and activities which are intended to motivate them to speak in English.3. Every student shall CARRY with him/her the SCHOOL DIARY DAILY.4. The warning bell before class is signal for all to go to their respective class rooms. This
should be done in silence5. All pupils are expected to be PRESENT AT THE ASSEMBLy. While marching to the assembly
ground and returning to the class rooms they should observe silence. Late comers should get permission from the Principal/Vice Principal before entering the class.
6. Attendance is taken at the beginning of both the sessions in the morning and afternoon.7. No child is permitted to leave the school premises without the permission granted by the
Principal/Vice Principal and that too on the written request of the parents in the hand book.8. Students are expected to SHOW RESPECT to all the members of the staff. They should
stand up and greet the teachers when they enter and leave the class room9. Students are expected to show gentleness and courtesy to their companions. Refinement
should distinguish every pupil of this school.10. All should BE habitually CLEAN AND NEATLy DRESSED. The SCHOOL UNIFORM IS TO BE
WORN ON ALL SCHOOL DAYS. A student who is slovenly dressed may not be permitted into the class room or may even be sent home.
11. Pupils are not expected to keep or read, books, newspapers, periodicals and other items which may be considered objectionable.
12. The Principal has the right to confiscate from the pupils, books newspapers, periodicals and other items which may be considered objectionable.
13. MONEy SHOULD NOT BE LENT OR BORROWED nor should articles be exchanged among the students.
14. NO COLLECTION OF MONEy for any purpose whatsoever is to be made and no meeting ‘demonstration’ party or picnic be held without the prior permission of the principal
15. Parents’ visit to the members of the staff and any gathering arranged in their honour also requires the prior sanction of the Principal.
16. Any pupil desiring to be exempted from P.T. or games must produce a doctor’s certificate to the effect that he/she is physically unfit to take part in them.

or spoil desks or chairs or damage any school furniture, write or draw anything on the wall or any way damage things belonging to others, Damage done, even by accident, should be reported at once to the class teacher or to the Principal. Any damage done will be made good by the one who has done it. In the absence of this common fine will be charged from all the pupils of the class or classes. Any one who sees something damaged should report the matter to the Principal even if he/she does not know who has done it. No pupil should bring razor blades, or any sharp instrument to school.
19. All letters and correspondences addressed to students are subject to scrutiny by the Principal.
20. The school is not responsible for articles or money lost. It is NOT ADVISABLE TO WEAR ANy KIND OF ORNAMENTS except simple ear-studs by girls. Pupils below class V should not wear wrist watches in the school. NO STUDENT SHALL APPLy NAIL POLISH OR POLISH OF ANy KIND ON THE BODy.
21. Running, playing, shouting and whistling inside the school buildings are not permitted.22. Parents/Guardians are not permitted to walk into class rooms or meet teachers during the
class hours.23. The name of the class and the section of the pupil should be clearly marked on all his/her
belongings.24. Students should MOVE IN LINE towards the water taps for washing hands at lunch time
and intervals.25. Students should behave in a refined manner. Wherever they go, they should always
remember, that the school is judged by their conduct. They should always GREET their TEACHERS, ELDERS and FRIENDS in pleasant and audible tone of voice, whenever they meet them in the school or outside.
26. Cycle must be locked and kept only at the cycle stand. No vehicle should be driven in to the school campus. While entering or leaving the school gate, one must walk in and walk out.
27. Students who come to school, escorted by servants, should not leave the school before the servant arrives. In case of any delay, it should be reported to the school office.
28. Those who go home by themselves should reach home straight without loitering on the way. Students are warned NOT TO BUy ANyTHING especially eatables FROM STREET VENDORS. The school canteen supplies the required eatables for students from class V onwards
29. Enrollment in St. John’s School implies on the part of Pupils and Parents willingness to comply with the requirements and regulations of the school.
30. The Principal has the right to suspend or order for the withdrawal of any pupil, without having to state any reason provided that the Principal is satisfied that such a step is necessary in the interest of the school.
31. “All lasting education first begins at home”. PARENTS ARE REqUESTED TO CHECK THE DIARIES OF THE CHILDREN at least once a week and ensure that instructions are being followed by their children properly.

d. Please, remember that a disciplined child at home will be a disciplined child at school also. Take interest in their tests, assignments, and their daily work and also in their co - curricular activities.
e. Private tuitions are not to be encouraged.f. Please, do not harass your children, abuse or punish them when they fall short of your
expectations in academic performance. Try to encourage and instill confidence in them. Please, try to examine if yOU are in any way responsible for the backwardness of your child.
g. Kindly, avoid criticizing the teachers in the presence of your children.h. Please, do not believe everything your children tell you about the teachers or school.

If any parent desires to take away his/her ward from the school, during the working hours, he/she shall obtain permission from the Principal/Vice Principal and shall also sign in the Movement Register. Parents are advised to send a letter of authorisation, if some one else is deputed to collect their wards from the school.
k. Parents are requested to keep all the receipts of payments and other valuable documents of their ward, which are given from the school. The caution deposit will be refunded only after returning its receipt. Parents are also requested to send their wards to school in full uniform, to give enough attention to their health, study, growth etc. and to keep their uni-form, identity cards, school bags, books, tiffin boxes and waterbottles etc. neat and tidy.

n. Text books, note books etc should be neatly covered. All the belongings especially Umbrella, Lunch Box, Water Bottle etc. should be provided with some suitable marks of identification.
