Elizabeth Von Nagy, Library Media, DC West Faren Huben, Mathematics, Westside Public Schools, Andrew Tomei, Mathematics, Millard Public Schools Jenna Miller, 2 nd grade, Westside Public Schools Congratulations winners and nominees and thank you for engaging your students with technology during your student teaching experience! “Andrew [Tomei] continually uses various functions of the [SMART] Board; revealing hidden text/numbers/symbols, color coding and information during instruction to engage students.” “Faren [Huben] is one of the most innovative student teachers . . . Her best skill is bringing technology into the classroom and having this technology connect math to the real world. I have learned from her more possibilities than I ever considered using in math.” “Jenna [Miller] has gone above and beyond to not only integrate SMART Board technology in her student teaching this semester, but has also been steadfast in teaching myself and my coworkers on how to use this technology! She is always willing to help the other teachers learn about how best to use this technology or problemLsolve with them.” “Liz [Von Nagy] understands how technology should be used to enhance content rather than become content, and is especially skilled in differentiating teaching and learning through the use of technology to meet the needs of all students.”
