Student Progress Binders
Fluency Phrase SheetsUsed 4 times for repeated readings to increase fluency. Students learn to read in phrases instead
of word by word.
Tracking FluencyEach student tracks their progress on the Fluency Phrase sheet by graphing their scores with stickers. They set goals for the next attempt by having a chat with the teacher during small
groups.
Letter Sound Review and Phonics Skills Materials from Wilson FUNdations curriculum are used to review letter sounds and basic phonics
patterns at every small group meeting.
Word WorkStudents track phonics concepts they are focusing on along with example words with the same
features on a personal word wall
Connecting Phonics to Longer TextStudents are given a text at their own level to read and mark words in. This allows them to see
what they have learned in phonics in a longer text and bridge the concepts to the “bigger picture” of reading as a whole.
Math FactsStudents are given a Math Facts Timed Test twice per week. They track their scores, and have
many opportunities to practice in small group center time before their next attempt
