When many small stresses pile together, or if some stress, even basic, bothers very frequently or stays for a very long period of time, it becomes Cummulative Stress. For example, you have to attend an important meeting at 8 am and you wake up to find no electricity.Power failure is just a minor stress, but when you find no water in the bath room, you are a bit more stressed. After having made your shave with a bottle of minral water, you go out for your car and find a flat tyre. You are much stressed now. You are already late but there is a traffic jam. You are in cummulative stress now. A fearful boss is waiting in his office to give you the final blow.

Adrenal Gland is a vital gland that produces the chemical called harmone and injects it into our blood which regualtes our blood pressure and metabolism. It is located on the top of our kidneys (renals), that is why it is called adrenal gland. Adrenal gland has two portions:medula and cortex. Cortex secrets cortisone or cortisol and other more than 30 harmones of which aldosterone is secreted in significant quantity. Cortisone and hydrocortisone are necessary for regulatoin of fat, carbohydrate adn protein metaboilism. Aldosteron is responsible for regulation of salt and water. Medula produces adrenaline or epinephrine. Adrenaline is normally secreted in response to a stress. A small amount of adrenaline is always present in blood but during stress this amount is increase in anticipation of extreme physical exertion. Adrenaline constricts our blood vessels which increase blood pressure. It accelerate heart beat. Increased heart beat and blood pressure results in increase supply of blood to our musscles. Blood contains oxygen, glucose and other nutrients. Supply of oxygen is increased because adrenaline alters the ratio of inhaling and exhaling and the breathing rate is also accelerated. Adrenaline makes liver liberate sugar stored in it. It also relaxes cetain muscles while contracs other. The blood goes deep and away from the skin so that the muscles can have more blood and it also prevents bleeding in case of injury.One may think that removing the adrenal gland will save him from stress and anxiety. Unfortunately, it is not so. In absence of adrenaline and other hormones secreted by this gland, blood pressure may fall; circulation of blood may become erratic; and man may lose interest in life. Adrenal harmones create thrill, happiness, sesual pleasure and add color to life. It also close the open ends of the injured blood vessles by shrinking them to stop bleeding. In surgical procedures, adrenaline is used to have blood less operation.
