how you perceive things. • Perception is the act of becoming
aware through stress.
Causes of Stress
• Stressors are anything that causes stress. •Biological stressors, such as illnesses•Environmental stressors, such as noise, crowds•Cognitive stressors, perception of the situation•Personal Behavior: negative actions of the body and mind caused by behaviors. •Life situation stressors: death, divorce, relationships
Body’s Response to Stress
• “Fight or Flight” response• Fatigue•Physical: body becomes tired•Psychological: mind becomes tired •Pathological: can’t fight off disease
Ways to Manage Stress
• Plan Ahead• Get adequate sleep• Get regular physical activity• Eat nutritious foods• Avoid tobacco, alcohol and other drugs
