Why did RWE CZ go for 100% cloudification ?

Key

challenges 3

> Decommission the physical data housing center in Brno till latest end of 2015 (Grid and non

SAP), end of 2016 (Sales – SAP IS-U, CRM, etc.)

> Achieve savings of 10% of the operating costs

> Minimize lost investment within the IT renewal cycle

> Aim for DevOps approach in application suport

expectations

> Finalize the the transformation process of IT services which is aligned with business and IT strategy

≈ „Commodity IT versus differentiating IT“.

> Leverage IT market trends in data center services - cloud, hosting and managed service

providers brings flexibility in terms of capacity and transforming fix costs into variable costs

> Focus on key business needs, not on IT's perceived growth needs

> Target lean capacity, risk management and BCM processes

> Fulfilling regional compliance and data retention requirements

> Aligning project plan with business project road map (inlc. MTP)

> Increasing maturity level of RWE group regarding cloud experience

Continuous Enterprise Wide Compliancy Monitoring and Assessment

➢ innogy, including its cloud and security teams do not currently have the ability to quantify if

the current cloud estate is compliant with the architectural and security principals, standards

and policies

➢ Compliance checks are completed by individual’s manually, this is both time consuming and

prone to human errors and, or misinterpretations of the requirements

➢ The number of cloud service providers and their services is increasing meaning compliance

will, has become a mandatory position to protect innogy’s data and services

➢ The goal of this initiative is to ensure that approved innogy employees are provided with all

relevant information to ensure compliance with security and architectural standards and

policies is achieved by January 2020 and can be continually monitored and maintained with

the least amount of effort
