Community Mental Health:
Transportation and Housing:Transportation and housing needs will be considered and arranged based on individual needs as identified by community-based Mental Health and Addiction Services.
Aftercare:Follow up and aftercare opportunities will occur in the client’s home community and will be arranged through local community youth counsellors. Connexion groups (aftercare groups) are run at the Strength Program for those who have successfully completed the Program.

The Strength Program will offer:• Counselling • Recreational activities• Family & parental support • One-on-one treatment• Group treatment • Individualized case process• Educational curriculum • Life skills development• Problem gambling support • Substance use / addiction support
Each program will run for 8 weeks, Monday to Friday, with housing and transportation support available for those requiring those services. A maximum of 10 youth will be accepted based on assessment and willingness to attend.

Youth referral to the Strength Program:
Youth will be assessed by Community Mental Health and/or Addiction Services across the province prior to program participation based on appropriateness and readiness.
The Strength Program
offers a range of programming and
supports for youth and families who are
dealing with substance abuse, addiction and
other related issues. This program is for those
requiring more intensive treatment.Education:
Youth attending the program will be able to continue to work on their school curriculum, GED’s, or Pre-employment programs, lead by the Academic Youth Worker (teacher).
Program discussions include :• Relapse prevention • Self esteem• Family dynamics
• Healthy relationships
• Managing cravings • Effective communication
• Making healthy choices • Goal setting• Developing trust in others and yourself

Family Involvement:
The Strength Program recognizes the
importance of involving family and
significant others in the treatment
process. Family involvement is encour-
aged whenever possible. Participants
will help determine significant people
within their lives who are supportive.
Family support services will be offered
to all participants of the
Strength Program.
