- Streetphotographyis a type of documentary photography that features subjects within public places.
- Such as streets, parks, beaches, shops, political conventions and other settings.
- Street photography uses the techniques of straight photography, in that it shows avision of something, like holding up a mirror to society.
- Street photography often tends to be ironic and can be distanced from its subject matter, and often concentrates on a single human moment, caught at a decisive moment.

- Henri Cartier-Bresson was a French photographer, who was considered to be the father of photojournalism.
- He helped develop the "street photography" or "real life reportage" style that has influenced generations of photographers who followed.
- Bresson believed that The Decisive Moment was that split second of genius and inspiration that a photographer had to capture a certain moment.
