Enigmas:

Here, we explain two enigmas of the world: the Nazca lines and the moais.

The Nazca Lines

The Nazca lines are a mysterious lines situated in Peru.

The lines are drawn in the desert of Nazca. Some

people think that the extraterrestrials draw them. Other

people think that is a big calendar about the movements

of the sun, the moon and the constellations.

They are situated at 330m in one of the driest areas of

the planet. This helps to maintain the drawings. This

lines can only be observed from the sky.

The lines are formed by more than eight thousand

straight lines, three thousand geometric shapes

(hieroglyphic) and seventy spectaculars drawings of

plants and animals.

The most elaborated drawings represent animals.

Moais

The moais are situated in Chile, in the island of Pasqua.

The question is:

How were the statues carried to the island? The most

common theory explains that the statues were sculpted

for the people who lived in the island almost 500 years

ago. It is believed that the statues are representations of

dead acentors or important persons that lived in this

period.

We don’t know exactly how were moved, but they

probably used sleighs or wood wheels.

The party starts in the evening of the 31st of October but the official day of “Muerto” is the 2nd of November. PHI TA KHON In Thailand, people celebrate Phi Ta Khon. Phi Tha Khon is a procession with music, songs and masks, and the sacred image of Buda. The young boys of the town dress up as spirits, ghosts and have fun while the monks recite the story of Buda. Sports in Ribes

In Ribes there are different sports, but the most important sports are football, basketball, hockey, and artistic skate

Football

Ribes Alevin “A” played against Barça.

The match was on T.V. (BarçaTV).

Barça won the match, 9-0.

The oldest team are 9th in the league.

Basketball

Ribes Mini A played against Cornella,

that’s the most difficult team in the league,

and Basket Ribes lost wit h 58 points.

Now mini A is second in the league.

Senior is in 1a Catalana, that's a very difficult league.

Hockey:

The hockey is another important sport in Ribes.

One of the Ribes teams are thirteen years old and

they play against older teams.

Artistic skating:

One trainer of Ribes is the number one in Spain,

and an other trainer is the therd in the world. The trainers are Maria, Xavi, Laura, Núria, Inés, Sergi.

2nd-Ingredients:

1-1/2 egg whites

½ tea vanilla essence

1 teap vinegar

1 teas cornflour

4 tabs spoons boiling water

Preparation:

3th-Combine all ingredients in

mixer bowl. Beat on high speed

until mixture is very stiff (approx

15 minutes).

4th-Pile mixture onto prepared

tray. Shape as desired.

5th- Place in preheated oven. Bake

for 10 minutes at 160·C. Reduce

heat to 100·C. Bake for a further

30 minutes. Turn heat off. Open

oven door 4 to 5 cm leave Pavlova

to cool in oven.
