New long-term data from a randomized, controlled, multicenter study demonstrate the impressive perfor-mance of SLActive® with immediate loading. In fact, the SLActive implants delivered a 10-year survival rate of 98.2 % in this challenging protocol.2*

Increasing patient expectations continue to drive demand for faster, and more efficient treatment protocols. Immediate loading allows the clinician to place a prosthetic restoration on the same day as the implant.

This approach allows a patient to benefit from the restoration immediately. However, this demanding protocol carries a higher risk of failure due to pre-mature loading of a healing implant.

Faster healing and increased implant stability is the ultimate goal of an implant surface during osseointegration. Reduce healing time from 6 – 8 weeks to 3 – 4 weeks

There is a high risk of early implant loss during the critical early heal-ing phase between 2 – 4 weeks after implant placement.4 SLActive® is designed to deliver better osseointegration properties by achiev-ing secondary stability sooner than hydrophobic surfaces, thereby increasing predictability during the early healing time and reducing the stability dip.5

hIGh STAbIlITY IN EARlY ImPlANT PlAcEmENT POST-ExTRAcTIONThe timing of implant placement post-extraction in the esthetic zone is considered to be an important success factor. Ridge changes after tooth extraction may occur because of bone resorption and may often result in a crater-like bone defect on the facial aspect of the extraction site. SLActive® demonstrates long-term stability of peri-implant hard and soft tissues after 6 years with highly esthetic outcomes in early implant placement.6,7

Enhanced bone formation. Even at compromised sites.Bone defects can compromise the predictability of osseointegra-tion. In a recent preclinical study8, SLActive® showed significantly higher formation of new bone aggregate within eight weeks com-pared to the standard Straumann® SLA® hydrophobic surface.
