CAHL Governors

CAHL Governors Thank you to last season’s governors, Diane Feick, Andy Dovichak, Tina Perkin, and Tracey Walker. Andy Dovichak will be stepping down this year. Miles McNair has volunteered to take his spot.

Financials – Income

Financials – Expenses

Financials – SMHA Losing Money

Financials - Fees

Due to a 15% increase in our ice costs for the 14-15 season as well as an additional 15% coming for the 15-16 season, it’s become necessary to raise fee’s in all divisions by $150 per player in order to keep up with these rising costs. This increase will still keep us lower than all surrounding comparable MHA’s.

Presidents Message

This year Strathmore MHA’s teams achieved success in several different ways. • 18 of 22 eligible teams made their respective play-offs. • 4 teams took it to the end and won the banners you see hanging here today.

Congrats! • Atom A won our local zone banner and placed second in Provincials in Edson to

bring home the Silver. Pretty good to be second best in Alberta! • Hundreds of new friends and life long relationships born! • Early bird draw for 3 registrations

This past season we started on a journey to re-structure our Timbit program in an effort to improve our development model as per recommendations from Hockey Alberta. This obviously came with some challenges and some learning curves. With the help of feedback from the coaches we are continuing to improve and expand on that model.

What SMH is: A youth sports organization with a board made of Parents, Coaches, Unpaid, Part Time Volunteers doing our best to make lasting memories for kids who enjoy playing hockey. What SMH isn’t: A multibillion dollar corporation with paid fulltime positions. We’re also not an NHL player factory, nor are we affiliated with the NHL.

We need your help to keep getting better.
