Dear colleagues and friends,It is a pleasure to invite you to the 4th International Conference “Strategies in Tissue Engineering” in Würzburg. In 2012, the confer-ence attracted 450 researchers from 35 countries. In this tradition, the meeting again sets out to bring researchers from all over the world together to discuss the latest developments in the rapidly expanding field of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine.
The scientific program takes into account the most recent develop-ments and trends of the field. Examples are biomaterials sessions focusing on biofabrication and tissue printing as well as the design of immunomodulatory materials, self organization of organs and developmental engineering, the growing importance of cell repro-gramming for regenerative medicine, new tools for non-invasive monitoring, 3D in vitro tissue models or regenerative strategies in old age and multimorbidity. Also, clinical trials using Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) within the current regulatory framework as well as the marketing authorization process will be covered.

As for the previous conferences, the high level of the scientific program will be determined by more than 30 international keynote lecturers. Again, it is one of our major goals to encourage young researchers and students to get involved in the field and attend this conference. To underline this, we will for the first time organize a Ph.D. session to stimulate early stage networking and experience exchange.
