Worked with Asm. Singleton to draft a Sandy foreclosure bill that passed the Assembly and worked to get Sen. Stack to sponsor that bill in the Senate.

Worked with our members who are involved in lead poisoning prevention to push legislation and get press on the issue. Successfully got the Governor to put $10 million into inspection and remediation of lead. Successfully got the Governor to strengthen the level of detection to the CDC standard.

Held a series of Community Development Spotlight events during June for community Development month including one in Hudson County where the Asm. Speaker and our members spoke.

Worked with Sen. Menendez’s office to get federal legislation introduced to address lead poisoning prevention and zombie foreclosures.

Held “No Housing Cuts” Congressional Day, bringing 350 people to DC to meet with elected representatives.

GOAL: Strengthen the resources and tools available for CDCs and their partners to create homes and jobs, while expanding the capacity of our members to access and put those resources and tools to work in their communities.
