Strategic Intent
LEARN, LEAD AND SERVE:
OUR STRATEGIC INTENT
Introduction
Our College vision is singularly focused on the education, nurture and devel-
opment of children who will generously learn, lead and serve in the commu-
nity. We believe that the quality of one’s leadership springs from the quality
of one’s heart – the values, virtues, priorities and hopes.
Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College is committed to planning for the future and
to aligning our practices to our strategic intent. Learn, Lead and Serve: Our
Strategic Intent provides our community with a clear direction for the next five
years. It states our philosophy and ethos, our strategic focus and a set of
tangible strategies designed to help us to achieve our vision.
Faith
The ultimate aim of our education is to help students acquire knowledge of
the truth – of God, society and the world – so that they are better prepared
to serve in their families and the wider world, to the glory of God and for the
welfare of others. The College aims to develop in all members an under-
standing of what it means to belong to a worshipping, witnessing communi-
ty of faith within the Anglican tradition. It will also encourage an apprecia-
tion for the diversity of beliefs within our multicultural society. Students are
therefore encouraged to develop a holistic approach to their life as individu-
als and as members of various communities. We believe that you discover
true wisdom through reverence for God and faith in Jesus Christ.
Mission
The Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College focuses on the development of the
whole child within a caring, Christian environment. We provide opportuni-
ties to ensure our students can learn, lead and serve.
Vision
We aspire to glorify God by who we are and the way we live, and to be Aus-
tralia’s premier learning gateway to a world of opportunities for students.
Graduates
Our graduates will be lifelong learners who possess a strong sense of self.
They maintain excellence in all that they undertake. They are principled,
caring and compassionate. They have an appreciation of effort as a pre-
requisite for achievement and fulfillment. They will be adaptable, active
citizens who are well-equipped to contribute positively to the world.
