StepOutlineScene1

ThedeliverymanarrivesatFrankieshouse.Thecloudofanimpendingstormis

suspendedabovethehouse.Parcelinhand,heringsthedoorbell.Thedooropensto

revealFrankie,asmallchild,standingatthedeliverymansfeet.Thedeliveryman

givestheparcel,riddledwithairholes,toFrankie.TheboxreadsShermerPetsand

AnimalSuppliesLTD.Frankiepushestheparcelintothehallwayasthedoorcloses

behindhim.

Scene2

Frankiemaneuverstheboxintohislaboratory.Rainbeginstotrickledownthe

windows.Onceinside,Frankieopenstheboxandheisseenremovingananimal

fromthebox.Theexactvarietyofanimalisobscuredbythedarkness.Hestrapsthe

animalintoalargeleatherchair.Thechairslowlytipsback,creakingasitgoes.

Frankiepushesasetofmetaldrawersoncastersbesidethechairandthenusesa

stepladdertoclimbuponthechair,leaningovertheanimal.Frankieisseenreaching

outofshot,pickingupvarious,obscuredinstrumentsandoperatingonthe

animal.

Scene3

Frankiehopsdownandmaneuversalarge,cylindricaldevicebehindthechair.He

franticallyconnectsaseriesofwirestoalarge,transformer-likedevice.Frankie

throwsalargelever,butthefinalresultisanticlimactic.Frankiethrowsthelever

repeatedly,onlytofindthecableleadingtothepowersourcecuriouslychewed

apart.Lightningflashesthroughthewindowsasalargegustofwindblowsthem

open,givingFrankieanidea.Hewrapsanotherseriesofwiresaroundthehandleof

anoldumbrella,whichhethenpositionsoutsidethewindow.Frankiethrowsa

switchsimultaneouslywiththelightningstrikingtheumbrella,whichcausesthe

transformer-likedevicetoburstintolife.Anotherseriesofswitches,knobsand

leversaretriggered,causingthecylindricaldevicetopowerup,emanatingaloud,whirringsound.

Scene4

Aleveristhrown,triggeringthemachinestopowerdowninunison.Alightburstson

abovethechair.Thechairrotates,revealingtheanimaltobeperfectlyunharmed

hamster,sportingaflamboyant,bouffant-likehairstyle.Theroomlightsup,revealing

theimplied-Gothicsettingtoactuallybeasalon,specificallyforpets.Photographsof

pastcustomerslinethefarwall.Frankiethrowsonefinallever.

Inkeepingwiththeaestheticofthehouse,thedoorisahulkingmassoftwistediron

andwood.

ThedoorisseenfromtheperspectiveoftheDELIVERYMAN,hecanbeseenholding

abox.Theholesintheboxindicateitisusedfortransportinganimals.

Apearlescentbuttonissetwithinanornateironbase.Assumingittobethe

doorbell,thedeliverymanpressesit.Adeep,heavytoneringsout,followedshortly

bythesoundoffootsteps,growinglouderastheyshiftedcloserandclosertothe

door.

CUTTOFrankiespinningalarge,leatherchairaround,somewhatmaniacalwithglee.

Thebackofthechairfacesthecamera,positionedataangle,furtherobscuring

hiseyescatchsomething.

curiouslychewedinhalf,muchtothefrustrationofFrankie,stillholdingfirmlyonto

thelever.

Lightningflashes,grabbingFrankiesattentionandplantinganideainhishead.A

largesetofwindowsisblownopenbythestrongwindshakingthehouse.

Frankieisseenfranticallyrummagingwithinacupboard.Heleaveswithanold

umbrellainhand.

CLOSEUPofFrankieshands,wrappingthemangled,exposedcablearoundthe

handleoftheumbrella.
