IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

Becoming a checker requires you to scan items which usually have a barcode on them.

The first thing to do is to locate the barcode, after you have done that, the next thing is to run the barcode on the barcode scanner and whenever you’ve heard a “beep” then it means that you have correctly scanned the item so then you would move on, until all items are scanned correctly.

NARRATION: Oftentimes you are going to come across a barcode that isn’t in the system or isn’t scanning, and this is what you would do in that instance. You would manually type in the entire barcode numbers except for the last one. For example if this barcode isn’t scanning you would manually type in 03600029145 and not type the last number (0). EFFECTS: TRANSITION: MUSIC:

This video shows why it’s important to keep in track of the barcodes that aren’t scanning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kE3lJr1BrA
