Story of Mount Wutaishan

Wutaishan Mountain is located in Shanxi Province of China and consists of five Peaks. They said Mount Wufeng is the first name of Mount Wutaishan. And you know, why its name was changed? It is the story..

Long time ago, there lived a Buddhist Monk on Mount Wufeng. He spreaded a Wenshu Buddhist. But in Mount Wufeng the weather was so bad, the weather was always dry. And the people were very miserable. He was concerned and he decided to change the weather.

Monk:” I’m sad to know that the people in this Mount is miserable. I will change it.”

The Monk knew that the King Dragon in The East Sea had a magic stone that can transform dry weather be damp. He wanted to borrow the stone from him.

Monk :” I will borrow it. It will make the weather be Better”.

Then he went to King Dragon in the East Sea. And he met the King.

Monk :” Majesty, I’m Buddhist Monk from Wufeng Mount. Give the honor and the saying for the King, from my people.”

King :”Yes, I get it. And you, the Buddhist Monk, deliver my greeting to the people of Wufeng Mount. I hope they always be fine.”

Monk :”Yes, thank you King Dragon, I will deliver your greeting.”

King :” So, What is your importance? Even you come to my Kingdom?”

Monk :”Majesty, before I say my importance, permitted me to tell the Wufeng Mount and its people.”

King :”Yes, please.”

Monk :”The Wufeng Mount is the Mount that has 5 peaks, the weather is so bad, the weather is Always dry. And the people are very miserable because no plant and no farm grow up well. Even in everytime Wufeng Mount always dry, no water and no rain in there. It make me so concerned, and I decide to change the weather. I know that the King Dragon in the East Sea has a magic stone that can transform dry weather be damp. And I will change the weather with the stone. Now and here, I as the delegate of people of Wufeng Mount, by my honorable, I want to borrow the stone, of course with the your permission.”

King :” Your plan is very kind. I salute and apreciate of your kind. I will be happy if I can help you. But, unfortunately I can’t borrowed the stone. The stone was lifted from the seabed to take hundreds of years, then it is very cool and the kids dragon on it after frequent breaks from work. If the stone was borrowed, kids dragon has no place of rest again. Im sorry. I will borrow everything to you, except the one.”

Monk :” King Dragon, the condition of Wufeng Mount and its people are very sadly, everyday no food in there. The food must be import from outside, because no plant and no farm in there. it take a long time and high price to import the goods and foods. I think if you want to borrow the stone, the living of the people will be change. Change into better condition and the land becomes thriving. Would you help the people?”

King :”I can borrowed everything, except the stone, Monk. I’m so sorry, I can’t help you and the people of Wengfu Mount.”

But the Monk still insists King Dragon to borrowed the stone.

Monk :”I come asking for help for the welfare of the people, King Dragon. If you don’t want to borrowed it, the people will be more miserable. Imagine!if your people in that condition, what are you feel??”

Dragon King finally said, "magic stone was very heavy, if you can lift it, go ahead."

The Monk was very happy to hear it.

Monk :” Thank you King Dragon, your kind is the wise answer.”

Buddhist Monk thanked him and cast a spell and the giant stone directly into a small stone. Dragon King was surprised and sorry.

Buddhist Monk after returning in Wufeng Mountain. Magic stone laid in a valley in the middle of the mountain, Mount Wufeng immediately became very cool weather. The valley was named as Cool Valley, and there built a temple named the Temple of Cool. Mount Wutaishan now also named as a Cool Mountain.
