Here we see the main character walking down the street, just after talking to his best friend; he is heading into a pool hall, his best friend talking him into coming in watching or maybe playing a couple games to raise money for his mums operation. He is a very good pool player and his friend is aiming to use him to play the hustling game on people. This shot will be a long shot of the two characters talking (in the real film, there will be a second character) tracking them as they walk through

Then we see him inside the pool hall, watching his best friend play pool, intrigued how the hustling game is played. After watching, he is then asked to play, replying that he had never played before. This was not true. In this scene the shot will be a medium shot, showing both the main character and the table.

But it all goes wrong, losing one game, he has to pay over half of the money he had earned over the night, suddenly realising the dangers of hustling. This shot will consist of a medium shot followed by an extreme close up when the money is exchanged.

He knows he must play one last game, to make sure he wins, so he can walk away on top and have the money for his mum. But he sinks lower than anyone else, borrowing money of the top don, a dangerous mobster. He knows his last game is very important, winning will mean he walks away with money and has enough to pay back the mobster. This scene will use shots such as over the shoulder, and also low angle shots to show the dominance of the mobster.

He starts his last and most important game of his life, its a crucial game very close. It all comes down to the black ball, the next pot would win, he has a simple shot to make, one that he was use to putting away, but nerves get to him, missing it, setting up his opponent and losing the game. Losing everything. This scene again will consist of close ups, extreme close ups, tracking shots, over head shots and over the shoulder shots.

Losing the game meant the money he owes couldn’t be paid back; he gets beaten up by the mobsters, learning his lesson the hard way, losing all his money, losing his mum, and losing the hustling game. This shot will be an over head shot, followed by low angle shots to show the dominance of the mobsters compared to the main character.
