The Chevrolet Impala has long been a best-seller for Chevy. So what do you do when it is time to re-design the car? You make it safer, more efficient, and more stylish than ever before. And that is exactly what Chevrolet did for the 2014 Impala. From the sweeping, clean lines to a luxurious interior with all of the modern appointments. The Impala is the luxury flagship for Chevrolet and the 2014 will exceed all of your expectations. Power for the new Impala comes from one of three different

engines. The 2.4 liter e-Assist 4 cylinder produces 182 horsepower and will achieve an estimated 35 mpg highway. (Fuel economy numbers that are usually reserved for much smaller cars!) The standard 2.5 4 cylinder produces 195 horsepower and the optional 3.6 V6 produces an impressive 303 horsepower. A 6 speed automatic is standard with all of these engines. High-tech safety features abound in the 2014 Impala. The list includes Full-Speed Range Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Mitigation Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Trafþc Alert. Ten standard airbags, and the safety and security of OnStar, are standard on every Impala. Inside the all new Impala you will first notice the huge 8 inch color touch radio and 4.2 inch color instrument cluster display. The dual-cockpit interior features a full wrap-arounds dash, soft touch materials, and available ambient lighting. The available MyLink radio system uses voice recognition and Bluetooth technology for complete driver interaction. In fact, Pandora internet radio can be streamed wirelessly from your smartphone to the Impala’s radio.

After spending most of his childhood in North Dakota, Texas and southern Illinois, Mark Wagner and his family moved to Roanoke when he was a sophomore in high school. His part-time job during school included washing tractors and servicing & delivering lawn mowers for Martin Bros.

Mark chose the GM ASEP Program (Automotive Service Educational Program) at ICC after he graduated from Roanoke High School. There he earned an Associate Degree while working and learning on the job at Sam Leman’s, resulting in a solid education combined with invaluable work experience. Since

then Mark has become ASE certified. We commend Mark for his disciple and dedication to quality work, as well as his friendly personality.

Mark & Tabitha Gauwitz plan to marry on September 15th and we wish them a beautiful life together. (Here’s an interesting tidbit - Tabby is the granddaughter of Orpha Moritz, our longtime friend and co-worker who retired in the summer of 2003!)

Tire balance describes the distribution of mass within an automobile tire. When the wheel rotates, asymmetries of mass may cause it to hop or wobble, which can cause ride disturbances. It can also result in a wobbling of the steering wheel or of the entire vehicle. The ride disturbance, due to unbalance, usually increases with speed.

Modern tire balancers spins the wheel to measure both the up and down and side-side imbalance. It will tell the tech where to place the wheel weights on the inside and outside of the wheel to correct the imbalance.

Our Road Force Balancer goes a step further. It is a more accurate balance because it simulates the rolling wheel as if it where on the road. The exclusive Road Force Measurement® system applies up to 1,400 pounds against the tire. The loaded roller detects non-balance, radial-force-related vibrations caused by eccentricity and constructional variation of the tire and wheel. Unlike non-contact measurement, the roller samples the entire footprint of the tire
