3. Product Description

BASIC USE AND APPLICATION Stonewood Architectural Panels are used as exterior ventilated panels for building cladding or rainscreen applications. BENEFITS Stonewood Panels offer the strength and durability of a solid phenolic core as well as excellent moisture and weather resistance. Countless design offerings are available in addition to custom designs. UL Class A and Class B fire rated options are available. MATERIAL Stonewood is manufactured with a core of phenolic resin-impregnated kraft paper and a face of melamine resin-impregnated decorative pattern, compressed at high pressure and temperature. The surface pattern is unlimited in color and texture, while the core is standard black or natural brown. The panel is further protected by a UV-blocking layer designed to withstand all weather conditions. Figure 1 shows the buildup of a typical Stonewood Architectural Panel.

PANEL DIMENSIONS Stonewood is offered in 4’x8’ panels and manufactured to different thicknesses. Standard thicknesses are: 5/16”, 8 mm, 3/8”, 10 mm, 1/2”, 13 mm. Other thicknesses are available. MACHINED PANELS Stonewood Panels can also be purchased machined to specific sizes and/or pre-drilled. GREEN CHARACTERISTICS Stonewood Panels are solid phenolic, thermally-fused materials comprised of multiple sheets of kraft fiber paper. These kraft papers can be FSC® certified and contain 16% or more post-industrial, recycled wood fiber content. FSC® certification provides third-party assurance that all wood fibers are from responsible sources. The Stonewood Panel manufacturing facility has been BIFMA level® certified. Fiberesin offers a 100% post-consumer recycled Stonewood Panels with a Class B fire rating. This product is not FSC® certified.

5. Storage and Handling

A. Transport materials in manufacturer's original unopened containers/packages, with labels clearly identifying

product name, manufacturer, color/texture, and weight. B. Always transport and store horizontally. C. Store materials in clean, dry area in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. D. A supporting board must be used underneath the Stonewood Panel to drill a clean hole. E. Panels should be cut using a track saw on a guild rail with a blade designed for cutting aluminum/plastic.

Fiberesin recommends the Festool TS 55 REQ Plunge Cut Track Saw and Festool 496307 Aluminum/Plastic saw blade for reference.
